Description
Why should a woman be forced to carry the child of somebody who raped and disgraced her? It's her body, she should be allowed to do whatever she wants with it.Related content

I just think that people should stop caring about what a complete stranger, one that you will most likely never see again, or ever see, in your life, wants to do with her body.
It's her womb, it's her cootch, let her decide what's right for herself. :I

Right? How does someone else getting an abortion effect anyone else but her and whoever she tells?
She's destroying a non-sentient fetus that no one has any emotional ties to. Not a human with emotions, feelings, memories, and families.

I know this comment is very old, but I very much agree.
A fetus is somewhat a parasite. It takes nutrients from its host and gives absolutely nothing back in return. Aside from morning sickness and all those other unpleasant things.

Think of the kid. That kid will be unwanted, resented, unloved, heavily medicated, mistreated, wasted, and then would grow up perhaps to be a rapist or something.

Kid-Mommy, do you love me?
Mom-No, honey. In fact I resent your very existence and every time I see you, I think of the rapist who conceived you.
That'll make the kid feel wanted!

I agree. I support abortion 100%, especially if it has to do with a victim of rape.

Rape babies?
.. This is a very sensitive issue. Not for me but the whole world. Now I might really dislike abortion; [I don't actually know.. Because my feelings are everywhere.] But I do believe if a woman was raped, they can have a choice to abort it or not. Because thinking about it.. It's better that the child gets raised wanted, instead of shoved away and what not.
Since of course, the grandparents may /not/ agree with it.

Of course, not all rape babies are from a man raping a woman.
A woman can rape a man. I heard one particularlly creepy story of a woman getting a man she knew drunk off his ass, sleeping with him while he was drunk, getting pregnant all so she could claim money from him

My sister doesn't mind it being known that she was raped and fell pregnant after that, though she chose to not have an abortion and she loves her daughter regardless.
I do support the fact that that choice was my sister's to make.

While I'm not exactly for abortion, as I still don't see it as exactly a good thing, I don't think the mother should be forced to put up with a child she didn't expect to have.
Wow, that sounded rather cold-hearted. .-.

It's more cold-hearted to believe women shouldn't be allowed to decide what they do with their own bodies. 'Pro-lifers' think they're more compassionate and caring than pro-choicers, but to be honest it's the other way around. Pro-lifers believe women shouldn't decide what happens to their own bodies, and to me, that seems downright cruel and heartless.

I also think it's silly to see Zygotes and early-stage Embros at babies. They are not self aware; at that point they are not even conscious. They are parasitic extensions of the mother.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against children or babies, I find them cute, however I do believe that the mother should always come first.

It's not cold-hearted. You're giving prime consideration to the woman in this abortion scenario, which not enough people seem to be able to.

I support selling all the assets of the rapist, put him in a labor camp for 15 years to work himself to the bone, and offer the money to the woman to support her child if she wants to keep it.
Why deal with rape babies when we can make sure rapists are too afraid to do anything in the first place? We need tougher penalties for rapists. It sounds harsh, but having big screen televisions and guaranteed pornography in prisons is hypocritical. Maybe that's supposed to scare rapists and murderers away?
How's that working out for ya?

I barely ever respond to comments but this just needs a reply. Your idea is a very good one to say the least and I absolutely love your use of the word "if".
However, you forgot the point of castrating the rapist to prevent him from commiting the crime again.

Starlow-FTW In reply to Youmaddotcom [2012-02-18 23:05:53 +0000 UTC]
Hey, if she still doesn't want to keep the child, nothing the government can or should do can stop it, but this way will discourage the rapist and provide encouragement for her to keep the child. Win win. Except for the rapist, of course, but he lost his share of the win when he decided to commit such a vicious crime.
I don't know about that. That'd be downright cruel.

It prevents the rapist from getting another person pregnant, not all people are going to be detered by fear, no matter how harsh the punishment.

Starlow-FTW In reply to Youmaddotcom [2012-02-18 23:16:45 +0000 UTC]
But we can't castrate people for doing that. I wouldn't castrate a murderer. It's on a whole new level from forced labor, caning, or even death. The eighth amendment is clear about things like this- really, it's something more barbaric places are accustomed to.

But at what point will the system become as bad as the rapist is? How much will castration cost considering you have to pay a surgeon, find a suitable place, pay for drugs, etc. Consider lawsuits that will come out of it... it's not worth it cost wise.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
RedSnowFox In reply to Starlow-FTW [2012-02-19 16:53:25 +0000 UTC]
I still believe in it. Or at least chemical castration, that renders them incapable of doing anything without any surgery having to be involved. And you can't file a lawsuit against the law.

Starlow-FTW In reply to RedSnowFox [2012-02-19 18:05:58 +0000 UTC]
You can believe what you want, but chemical castration would still be expensive. Plus, would it be constitutional? That's what I wonder.
