I think Erik is one of those rare people who know how to present themselves to the fullest.
Some may call it charisma, but his probably stems down from his complex about the deformity.

I find his note writing very curious - it is a line of communication that he just cannot seem to sever.
True, it is necessary for running his theatre (yes, his, thankyouverymuch).
But writing letters are very personal, as opposed to, say, a disembodied voice, which you know he and his ventriloquism skill can accomplish.
This is why I love the man - he's so complicated!

I agree with you there. Notes are more personal. Which is why I still send letters instead of just Emails. (Don't worry, I am not commanding them to something and should the demand be ingnored and all of that...Well...some of them but they know what it means.) And it was very important for Erik to send the letters. If he was just the voice, then they would have called the Ghostbusters or Ghost hunters. (::giggles:: Which just inspired me.) But yea. One thing we can all agree on is both the complexity and love for Erik.
(I am sure I had a point in here too...Somewhere...)

Forget the entire note, I pretty much know the entire show verbatim.
Comes from seeing the show more times than I care to admit...
I find Erik's note writing rather cute, especially since he's noted for his not-so-stellar penmanship.
Maybe that's why so many of them go unheeded - because no one can read them.
