Description

This took me a surprisingly long time to make. In vein of creating new art based on some of the new shows I've discovered, here's one from a little cartoon called Rev & Roll. Chances are, you've never heard of this show before, so here's the skinny.

Rev & Roll takes place in a world where vehicles, including cars, trucks, ATVs and boats are living things (How original). We follow five kids and their sentient vehicles (not pictured) as they live their lives in the country town of Fender-Bend. They play games and run errands and jobs around town and face problems and issues that they must learn to overcome within the span of twelve minutes. As far as I'm concerned, this show lasted for all of one season.

Based on that description, it would be understandable to say this is similar to Blaze and the Monster Machines, but after watching both shows, the only thing they've got in common is the living cars aspect. There are no shoe-horned songs, no fake interactivity, no pre-school lessons involving shapes and numbers, there's not even an antagonist. Plus, while the heroes in BatMM are practically perfect, the main cast of Rev & Roll are very flawed people, with strengths and weaknesses, and are prone to making mistakes.

Here are the characters, from left to right:

Trevor 'Rev' Wheeler - The titular character of the show. A happy kid who takes everything in his stride and always tries to look on the bright side. His partner vehicle is a truck called Rumble, who has the personality of a dog.

Avery - The tough-as-nails girl who is on Rev's level. Daring and striving to be the centre of attention, but also bossy. Not only is she Rev's best friend, but she is also his rival (and possible love interest). While the two compete on many occasions, they both share a powerful bond and truly care for each other. Always accompanied by Alley, her kitty ATV.

Owen - The black best friend of the bunch. Self-absorbed and has an active imagination, but always willing to help. His vehicle is a dune-buggy called Crash, who is a frog.

Bo - The eccentric member of the gang, who has actual rescuing experience as a fire-fighter, along with Spritzer, his fire-truck with the brain of en elephant. Quirky when he wants to be. Serious when he needs to be.

Lori - The ditzy, blonde, country-girl. Extremely optimistic, idealistic, and hopeful for the better, which can also act against her. Her vehicle is a dumper-truck called Tipper, who acts like a horse.
