Ever have one of those times where you're truely inspired to draw and work for hours to get every last detail on your artwork just perfect so that it looks EXACTLY like you wanted it to? And just how many times does it happen that those times end up having something go wrong? I'm willing to bet a lot. This is what happened to me. I poured my heart into creating a masterpiece of oekaki (I'm allowing myself an ego because damnit I like what I've done here!) only to have my server die. I wait for over an hour for it to come back up, and just as it was about to... the browser dies. So the oekaki I worked so hard on goes 'Pfft'.
Luckily for me, I learned my lesson the first time and discovered the joy of a little button labeled "Print Screen".
So now, thanks to my paranoia of screencapping every oekaki I do repeatedly to the point of insanity, I can at least post it here even if not on the oekaki board.
Those of you that might've read my description on my previous pic know that Neon and I have completed a Bakura/Malik fanfic that we're gonna start posting soon. This drawing was created due to the inspiration that came from it and flipping through my sister's How To Draw Manga (Couples) book. Originally it was gonna be a romantic scene, but then it became Thief Bakura, alone.
I feel sorry for the poor guy...

I can't believe that I never updated this picture with the link to the story that I mentioned in it. Well, I'm fixing that right now! The story is called Aurora (for those of you who have yet to see me plug it in other pictures), and, as said above, it's a Bakura/Malik romantic (yaoi / shonen ai / boyxboy love) story full of character development and following canon as closely as possible while going into thief Bakura's past.

My friend says it's even sadder when akefia's soul was destroyed with zorc. me and her think when zorc was killed akefia's spirit should have been finally free from his eternal suffering like dartz was able to be free in he end of season 4.

Hmm... I'm very flattered that you want to use my art as a cover, and I'm happy that you thought to ask me for my permission first. Sadly, not a lot of people do.
That said, I would feel more comfortable to lend my art to a story that I was familiar with. I'd offer to read your story, but I have very little time for my own stuff that I don't know when I'd be able to squeeze it in and then get back to you. As it is, it's taken me a very long time to reply to comments such as yours here on DA. It might be easier if you used another image (if you haven't already due to how long it took me to reply). Sorry. Good luck on your story though!

I feel pretty bad for Bakura. It's weird, no one in Yu-Gi-Oh! feels bad for him except that Akhenaden knows what happened at Kul Elna. And even when Bakura told everyone what happened, they still don't feel bad for him, not one!!!!

Yeah, that's exactly how I felt. Everyone is given a chance to empathize with everyone else, but with Bakura, both in anime and manga, it was rushrushrush gotta get to the end, no time to feel bad about the main villain for the series! We gotta feel sorry for this other villain that got tossed in!

Hmmm. . . . I also think that's what happened to Marik, Odion, Alister, Valon, Raphael, and all the other villians who had a bad past.
Humph. The only ones that the protagonists (but mostly Yami Yugi) care about is only their friends and no one else.

Yeah, pretty much all the villains had an opportunity to make the group feel sorry for them. Even the so-called "filler" villains. The theme was supposedly that no one was completely evil, but that flies in the face of showing Bakura's humanity. The ball was really dropped there.

Utterly and totally awesome. I always thought it was kinda unfair that TKB was controlled by Zorc practically all of the time during the anime, and you never got to see the real him. Plus, what sucks is that 4Kids *frown* edited out the scene were he's looking around the corner at everyone being killed...and he looks all scared. Aww.
He needs a hug, doesn't he?

Yeah. It was pretty disappointing too how there was all this build up regarding Bakura and you expect that he, like every other villain in the series, would have his time to show more of his back story to the heroes, but, no, Akunadin swiped all of that tragic past time. Both in anime and manga Bakura got piddly blurbs and more or less he was a puppet all along. It's very disappointing.

Poor Bakura...he has good reasons for doing everything he does. He had so much pain and despair, so I completely understand why he is the way he is.

Personally, I like the redux better, but this one's cuter and more sad... seems more meaningful somehow, FAVE! ^0^ I love depressing and meaningful things.... I think that's why I loved Aurora... Still waiting for the sequel!

The reason I had when I was drawing this picture was because Bakura was thinking back on his past and how everyone he ever knew and love were horribly killed and how he couldn't forgive such a thing.
