She is so darling!!! You did a really top notch job on all the embroidery, such straight lines And she can stand up!!! Fantastic job indeed :3 I also like that you crocheted her eyes instead of using plastic or glass, giving it a more hand crafted look, which I think is adorable and more sentimental <3

Hehe, thank you!!! I felt so accomplished when i did this! I don't like using the plastic/glass beads because I don't like them and don't have the time to go looking for some at the store. xD I crocheted another one to sell at my Local Arts Festival, but have no clue on what to price her at. xD

They are very difficult to find in stores, it takes me awhile to find them in stores I've never been too. But I have fallen in love with huge ones that you can only get online it seems, yet I still haven't bought any. But I recommend them sometime to just have fun with them.
And OOH it will totally be sold pretty quickly defiantly if you are in Austin or Denton (dern hipsters ) But I hate pricing things, I wish I could give my stuff for free. But when I do pricing I usually total the cost of the yarn and a approx.for stuffing, with that total then I multiply it by two...but I still feel that is to much but it is the only formula that works the best for me at the moment.

Yes they are difficult to find. Especially Tree Trunks. But Adventure Time is starting to show her more. ;D

I live in Lubbock, Texas. We have quite a group of teenagers who like Adventure Time. ^_^ I hate pricing things as well. I would feel like I am asking for to much. For example, my dolls have gotten very popular. I've been selling them for $10 and my Gramme said I should go up to $15 as they become more popular and charge my multiple buying(have 2 people who buys more than 2 because they have daughters/grand daughter ) costumers $12. xD

Indeed I can't wait to see her more, but my favorite character has to be the Ice King because he is so silly...but also I just got so attached to him because of his backstory.

Ah ha! I would say almost deep south, for some reason I was thinking you were gonna say you're from El Paso XD and I wouldn't know how to help. I again know exactly how you feel. Also when I had repeat costumers I wanted to give them a discount because they were so nice and also usually decent friends. My prices always varied on size but the usually was $10 to 20. Although I did make this HUGE bear, he was probably like two feet tall...I think I sold him for about $40 but I can't remember now. But again...I just hate pricing things.

hehe The Ice King is silly! I felt bad when his fan fiction didn't come real. The devastated him so much!

haha xD People expect me to be from Fort Worth or Dallas for some reason. I don't like lubbock. For many reasons. We apparently have the 2nd highest std/pregnancy rate(glad I'm not part of that rate), it's pretty much a music town because of buddy holly and not a big Art town(at our local arts festival a lot of kids who do music theme work win and it pisses me of so much) and last reason is because all the dirt everywhere from cotten fields. xD The must I've made from an item is $13? xD

But at least they do have Fiona and cake episodes, those are always enjoyable with such fantastic voice actors :3 Like Neil Patrick Harris as Prince Bubblegum and Donald Glover as Marshal Lee.

Oh, texas. Keeping it classy =_= But I understand, I live in a town near Dallas but my town is mostly ghetto. Not like there are major gang fights or anything but we had a local yarn store for a year then it went under since not many people went to it. My town isn't even an art town haha. But it is mostly old white people and young African Americans, with the random hint of missionaries. But that is bogus that they only pick art themed stuff. It makes it really unfair, but it is their demograph it seems. I am sure if you crocheted Buddy Holly, I'm sure you'd get some attention. Plus he has cute glasses :3

That's true. i love the Fiona & Cake episodes! heehe ♥

Yep, texas and the white trash in some times. xD Lubbock is ghetto in the downtown area and in some of the school districts. we don't have any major gang fights, just minor ones. Wish we had a yarn only store here. Thhe next best thing is Michaels and Hobby Lobby, and sometimes Walmart. Lubbock and their stupid music, it sometimes annoy me because they put a lot money towards buddy holly exhibits instead of newer school books. 0.o and true might crochet him sometime. lol xD Buddy Holly glasses are really popular here.

It was a brilliant idea to have a gender crossed series :3

And I understand very well what you mean. My favorite is JoAnne's which is not to far away, but I do adore Hobby Lobby but JoAnne's is usually cheaper since I get monthly coupons and a 10% off members card :3 But that is ridiculous that they'd spend more money on a dead person then on the future minds of America...it's pretty silly. Since I don't think it is worth so much because he was influential but I rarely hear people talk about him. Well they are the thick rimmed hipster type XD

Oh yes it iss.

I love JoAnn's but its on the other side of town. xD Buddy Holly is okay but he wasn't all that big really.

^w^ and aww it should be closer!!! I should say, it should be surprising that I know who he is if I wasn't such a big fan of old music. But I can't say an average person would be able to tell you who he was. Or at least anyone my age or younger.

YunisUnis In reply to YarnHoardingDragon [2013-01-31 14:34:51 +0000 UTC]

Yes it should!!! I only know him because I've grown up hearing about him and been to the museum thousands of times. When people move here they are like "This town is so cool!" I would be thinking and probably saying "Why on earth did you move here????" lol

I really don't understand how they dedicated so much to him, it sorta baffles me since I don't think of Lubbock as a tourist trap. It's odd. But I am sure it is cool to visit but I don't think I would want to live there since I'm more of a fan of Austin, and it's weirdness-hippie-liberal-ness. Although I do not even live there haha.

I know right? He was born in lubbock and got famous in lubbock. i guess that's why. But the judges at the Art Festival are going to see a lot of me... Especially since I will have a booth there. xD
