History:
Conqueror class of dreadnought was built during the first Procyon war (War was called Procyon wars or the first Procyon wars because all battles were fought in Procyon sector, half of sector was under UEA and other half hold by Arkos Imperium). War in which United Earth Alliance fought against Feline race known as Arkos. Ships were created primary for command role, leaving fleets into the combat.
Earth High Command ordered seven ships for the first batch, but more compact and advancer battleship soon enter the service rendering Conqueror to big and to expensive. Five from seven ships participate in battles, none were lost. Arkos learn quickly to fear this new ship, but because of very few of them it was not real threat to them. However Alliance prove to be dangerous even without Conquerors.
Weapons:
Conqueror features large arsenal of different weaponary, from long range beaming weapons, ion cannons, short to mid range defense cannons, and large number of missiles which were usually used in large swarm attacks, overhelming enemies.
NovaTech Mk V "Raiden" Heavy Plasma Fusion Discharge cannon - was probably the last of Plasma Discharge weapons, since UEA changed to the new Mk VII "Raiden" Antimatter Discharge Cannon. Nevertheless Mk V is extremly effective and dangerous weapon. It is capable to rip apart any Arkos ship in one shot and there is only twenty second recharge time between the shots. Discharge cannons have heavy damage and best penetration of all weapons that UEA use but on top of the "Expensive" list, reserved only for Dreadnoughts and some Battleships.
Rheinmetall-Raytheon HKMK10 "Tormentor" 705mm "tripple" Heavy Kinetic/energy cannon - One of many joint ventures between two oldest Earth Weapon and propulsion manufacturers, Tormentor was created one of main guns mostly for larger battleships and especially for dreadnoughts. Unlike other Weapon-technology manufacturers, Rheinmetall perfer Kinetic and Railgun cannons, however Tormentor have both in one, special 705mm Catriges fire Kinetic bullet that is designed for hull impacts, attacking solid objects while the other mode that after configuring the gun allows energy beams to be fired from the guns are used against shields. Tormentor was similar "20th century anime Space Battleship Yamato - guns" an old style battleship tripple guns, that have capabilities to fire solid kinetic rounds and energy beams. This weapons win the war against Arkos. While the Arkos ships were excellent against smaller UEA capital ships, they cannot match with larger ones, mostly because of range of UEA weapons. Tormentor cannon have range of five hundred fifty killometers allowing to hit any Arkos ships before they can even enter the firing range (300km)
As told, Kinetic rounds that Tormentor cannons used are extremly effective against non shielded targets, but against shielded ones have little effect, however volleys on the same spot would probably weaken or even penetrate the shield of Arkos battlecruiser. Most of battleships and dreadnought carriers three "tripple" cannons, two on front and one on back, which allows to weapons crew to use both modes in same time, first gun to fire in beam mode, penetrating the shields, and second gun to fire kinetic rounds blasting ship to pieces.
Tormentors become standard on all Earth battleships and dreadnoughts and better and upgraded versions were always in development.
Selene Arms BC101 "dual" Heavy Particle cannons - This beam energy cannons were relativly new ones in UEA arsenal, they were created against smaller capital ships but also to penetrate any kind of energy field Arkos untilize, however this particle cannos are not only good against shields, unlike the Tormentor cannons(and beam mode), this particle cannons can actually do a high damage to unshielded target as well. This type of cannons are mostly mounted on back of the ships, on their engine sections, taking power directly from the engines to power them to the maximum strenght because unlike some other guns these cannons using direct energy from reactor.
Raytheon M175b Ion cannons - Ion cannons were first developed by Raytheon some twenty five years ago, relativly new weapons, that in some way replace old bolters and pulse weaponary which had short range and less damage. Ion cannons could not only disable ships it could also destroy it. M175b Ion cannons can turn for 160 degree, which allows to be used as bombardment weapon as well, especially against tight enemy formations. Smaller ships would be usually destroyed after few hits, but larger heavier units can sustain several volleys before been heavily damaged and destroyed. Raytheon experimented for forty years with Ion technology (not with Ion engines, which were in use for very long time), each generation becoming more powerful and deadly. Ion cannons have two settings, low which was used to disable enemy ships electronics and systems and heavy which usually damage or destroy enemy ship.
Raytheon MI200 Plasma Pulse/Beam Turret cannons - Heated Plasma Pulse-Beam weapons are in use for almost one hundred and ten years, they were mostly short to med range weapons used as defensive weapons, but in case of enemy ships came to close they could be effective against ships as well, especially smaller ones. This weapon is not so powerful, it do not have damage or piercing power however in large numbers (of turrets-cannons) can be effective as defensive grid, stopping enemy missiles or even pulse weapons.
Raytheon-Selene Arms DL050 "Q" Heated Plasma Lasers - Used as both offensive and defensive weapons, unlike the Plasma turret cannons, this "Q" heated plasma lasers have long range, they were used to target smaller enemy crafts, troop - transports, even fighters, capable to destroy in seconds. This weapons were often mounted near important part of ships like bridges, engines (in Conqueror and some other ship classes, only near the bridge).
Raytheon BRS-75BII Railgun "Defense" turrets - While the larger railguns were good against larger capital ships, this smaller railgun turrets were more designes as defensive weapons, they are short to med range weapons designed to defend ships against enemy fighters and missiles, creating covering flak on side of the ships, destroying everything that try to pass. However on short range this weapons prove to be devastated against non shielded targets, shredding ships to pieces.
Raytheon RK771 "Widowmaker" Kinetic Anti-missile-fighter missiles - Main anti-missile-fighter missiles, created to counter enemy missiles but also enemy fighters. Usually launched in swarms. Kinetic warheads can cause shrapnels that could decimate entire squadrons (if fired in larger numbers).
Raytheon-Selene Arms MBZII2 "Phoenix" Heavy Kinetic missiles - One of several anti-capital missiles, designed to destroy unshielded enemy ships and stations. It have little effect on shielded objects or ships, however in larger numbers it can damage or even penetrate enemy shields.
Raytheon-Alcos Weapons T75 "Tyrant" Heavy Fusion missiles - Unlike "Phoenix", "Tyrant" is missile type designed to penetrate shields, but also to directly damage hull. It have great damage capabilities and can make critical damage to most enemy ships. Downside like every other missiles, constant replenishment needed.
NovaTech "Planet Breaker" Antimatter torpedoes - Heaviest torpedoes in UEA arsenal. Although UEA have some other Antimatter missiles and torpedoes, Planet Breaker is the most deadly one, capable "in theory" to destroy even a planet. This missiles were rarely used and were one of "ACE" weapons that UEA have in case every other fails. None of this weapons were ever used in combat, although Conqueror class dreadnoughts carrys them in combat, none were fired. One of these torpedoes would probably destroy a small fleet.
