Background: Avox was born and raised in Star Nest. His father left right after he was born so he never met him, but that doesn't mean he wasn't raised in a loving home. From his mother and grandpa, Avox received nothing but love and affection. The only downside being his older brother who, for reasons Avox never understood, didn't seem to like him much. It seemed to Avox that Cayman downright hated him with the way he constantly insulted him. It was like everything Cayman said to him started and finished with a different insult - which hurt Avox more than anything. Especially because there were instances where Cayman wasn't mean, moments where Cayman talked softly and gave Avox a glimpse of what he could have. But they were gone as quickly as they had come.
                    Then one day, Cayman flipped out on him harshly which resulted in his broken nose. After that, Cayman rarely talked to Avox and Avox was too scared to approach him. He still received all the love from his family but he always noticed the way his older brother seemed to shut down on himself, seemed to isolate himself. And many times Avox thought of saying something, going to him maybe, but he was scared of Cayman flipping out again so he never did.
                      But this love and affection didn't come only from his family, it also came from his best friend Salvador. Sal actually helped Avox become who is he today. They've been pretty much inseparable since they met; always spending their free time together playing and exploring- doing stuff kids do. They were there for each other. Sal knows how to deal with Avox, how to calm him down when he's too irritated or angry at something; and Avox knows how to listen when Sal needs someone to listen. Moving in together just seemed the right thing to do once they were old enough- but moving in together wasn't exactly a sea of roses. They fought and argued a lot. And once they started developing feelings that went beyond friendship for each other, things just became really complicated and messy because neither or them are exactly great at expressing their feelings. And Avox's self-esteem isn't exactly the best so it's not as if he ever tried to tell Sal about these feelings of his. Sal's anxious personality didn't help either, it actually made everything much worse because Avox felt like Sal was avoiding him.... It was a mess from start to finish. Once the confrontation happened there were a lot of tears, a lot of anger and hurt words were spoken. But they figured it out.
                    Dating Sal didn't feel as weird as Avox previously thought it would either. It felt natural and right.
                    Avox got his job as a Furnace Keeper shortly after this and it was something he genuinely enjoyed. It was exhausting work and also very dangerous but Avox really liked it. But apparently things didn't exactly run as smoothly as his superiors made it seem; for a few days he kept hearing this one co-worker of his saying that the equipment should be replaced, that they were already too old and overused to be kept, but not one really listened. I'd be lying if I said Avox hadnt been a bit wary of the whole thing but he listened to his superiors, after all, they had more experience than his co-worker.
                    But when the accident happened, Avox wished he had listened to his co-worker instead. It was a mess; the chains had come undone on one of the buckets, too rusted they later said, the molted metal came crushing on the ground, splashing Avox and the other caelis that were too slow to move away in time. Avox, being the closest the the crash, was hit severely bad, resulting in the ugly scar he now sports in his right arm. Recovery was especially hard as he was in constant pain but Sal made sure he had the best medicine at hand.
Avox never went back to the job, getting a significant sum of money for the injury he got. During his recovery, he barely left the house, the pain too intense whenever he so much as moved his arm to reach for something. When Sal insisted on short walks to speed up the healing process and prevent complete loss of function in his arm, Avox was less than enthusiastic, his irritation reaching new heights. Yet, it was during one of these painful walks that Avox stumbled upon their daughter - a tiny bundle of fluff, no more than a week old, concealed within a crevice between the rocks along one of the paths near their nest. At first, Avox feared the worst and frantically scanned his surroundings, finding no one in sight. As soon as his fingers touched the soft fur, a pitiful cry was heard and Avox's heart broke when he heard it. He immediately got her out, held her close to his chest as her little hands grasped his short fur between her chubby fingers, and he rushed as fast as his injured arm allowed him back to his home, hoping that Sal was already there when he arrived.
                  It was clear that adopting her was the right decision, especially after searching for the little one's mother for a few weeks with no success. They named her Citlali and showered her with love and attention. She was spirited and full of energy, which Sal believed was beneficial for Avox's recovery as it kept him active. Taking care of Cit also mellowed him out, made him more patient and tactful.

While he can be blunt and straightforward in his communication, he has learned to be more tactful with age, however, Avox's straightforward communication style can be an asset in certain situations.

But one thing that has always remained true is that the find their way back to each other. Always. They figured things out, fell in love on the way and have always, and shall always, stick together.
Ø Citlali [Daughter] - Citatli is Avox's little princess.
When Salvador showed at home with an orphan doot, tearful eyes staring at Avox pitifully, Avox knew there was no way he would turn the little doot away. Learning to be a parent was a journey for him, fear of turning out like his own dad gripped him every waking day. But he found himself quickly falling in love. Becoming her dad brough the best out of him, he dotes on her and loves her unconditionally - even now, when she's no longer a doot.
She's witty and funny. Watching her grow up independent and and adventurous fills Avox with nothing but joy. He would die for her. He would do anything for her.
Ø Bibinthicus [Grandpa|Father-figure] - Avox's grandpa has always been the tough-loving kind. He has always looked intimidating, rough around the edges, but Avox has always felt comforted by his presence rather than scared of it. In fact, he would often seek out Bibi's gruff comfort when things got bad at home. As a doot he would trailed after Bibi asking him a billion questions because Bibi always seemed to have an answer for everything. Avox looked up to him.
For a time though, when his anger felt all-consuming and he felt like bursting out of his skin, he avoided Bibi. But if you know Bibi, you know he doesnt give up easily and soon Avox was cornered, forced to talk, shouting all his anger through snot and tears, hurt and anger pouring out of him. But part of him knew it would all be alright in the end. Because Bibi was there.
Ø Phaesto [Friend] - Phaesto's an old coworker from the days back when Avox worked at the forge. They weren't exactly close before Avox's accident, barely said more than two words to each other before it all went down. But after? After things changed.
Phaesto started visiting Avox during his recovery which annoyed him at first, hating being vulnerable in front of someone who wasnt family, but Phaesto was incessant so Avox was forced to get used to it. Slowly, they became friends. Once Avox's recovery forced him to walk around (physical therapy, Sal called it), Phaesto would take him out to drink, letting him curse as he limped his way through, barely batting an eye at Avox's rude remarks and thinly veiled insults. He stayed through all that though. Although Avox is aware the reason Phaesto started visiting was due to guilt over the accident, the other feeling like he was at fault for not pushing harder to get the equipment fixed, to make their bosses listen to his warnings. As if their bosses even cared. But he stayed and he's still a fixed caeli in his life. He is his friend.
Ø Rupple [Frenemy] - Ruppell annoys the hell out of Avox. It's like the unhinged caeli goes out of his way to make Avox's job so much more exhausting than it has to be, like he has some sort of tracker that lets him know exactly when Avox steps into Northern territory.
Avox tries to remain professional, keeps himself from lashing out and start a brawl with the lanky caeli, but by the Stars does it take effort.
They're not close, Avox wouldn't call them friends even if someone was holding a knife to his neck, but he would be lying if he said Ruppel's unpromptu visits didn't liven up his days a little. Not all the time though. He's still annoying as fuck.
