A wacky and unpredictable mercenary, despite his close associations with Cable, Wolverine and the X-Men Deadpool is not in fact a mutant. Wade Wilson recieved his incredible healing abilities as a test subject of the Weapon X program, and would hone his combat skills as an assassin for years. His recent partnership with Cable encouraged him to become a more heroic figure, but he's still far from a traditional hero.
