Finally! After two years of working on different characters for my portfolio I finally caved in and finished one character I've been meaning to do even before I began! I opted on building up my portfolio first, learning more and more techniques so that when I finally did him, he'd come out the right way and be a piece deserving the character. Now without further ado, is the Merc with the Mouth himself, Deadpool!Deadpool has always been one character I just love to draw or doodle, and it's his diverse character that makes him so fun to depict in every way possible. Wade is unique in a sense that he can pull off both comedic and badass looks, and for this piece I opted to go for the latter with a dynamic pose and both katanas unsheathed and ready for some katana-rama action. I initially had six different sets of arms to choose from, and I had to narrow it down to choose the best combination of them all. It's also a wonder that this is my first piece with a sword, and it's mind-boggling honestly! I think I'll work on more sword-wielding characters in the near future...
The detail I put into this piece is out of this world, and I spent days putting every single detail that I could possibly muster. This is his new Marvel NOW! outfit, which I think is a terrific update of his costume, with newer details to streamline the whole look. All over the piece are linings on his costume, silver buckles, straps and pouches (it's not Deadpool without 'em pouches)! I also added in two pistols stored in his harness and belt and smaller details on the handle of his katanas, but the most painful part of the piece was the sole of his right boot, which took me hours to do. The facial expression was something I worked on with extra effort too, and I'm glad I was able to convey a bit of some Wade's character with his eyes, and subtle shading to show his nose and a little smile there behind his mask.
The combination of red and charcoal grey that I chose for this piece works very well together too, and I'm glad both colors blend really well with the brown that I chose for his harnesses and straps. After two weeks of working on him, I must say I'm really proud of this one, and I'm glad I waited this long to finally do justice to Deadpool with this piece! Chimichangas!!

Can someone tell me how this new costume is a better improvement than the original one? You know how the accessories, linings, and added gear make him look cooler.

Well to me I like how they altered the seams which puts more black and less red. He looks less like a cartoon and more like an assassin to me now!

I guess adding the buckles straps to the legs, gauntlets, and boot pads helped too?

To me it's practical for him to have places to put his stuff. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion here!
