Description
Choosing on who to work on after Iceman was pretty much a no-brainer for me, and it seemed like it was set on a plate for me to finish this fire and ice combo with none other than the Fantastic Four's very own Human Torch!

The Torch was even harder than Iceman for me because it's really difficult to portray someone who's engulfed with flames, and I'm glad I was able to pull it off somehow. I started with base painting his body in different shades of red like they do in the comics, and his costume follows after my earlier piece on the Thing with their Ultimate outfits which I prefer for the team.

I added about 3 different layers (red, orange, and yellow) for the flames, and 3 additional layers of each of those colors for surrounding embers and heat effects. It doesn't stop there since I had to carefully erase each of those layers to make them look sharp to emulate real flames. To add to that I added some little effects throughout his body to emulate flares or ember sprouting about here and there, and it really helps the piece pop out a little more.

This was a piece that I had a lot of trouble in especially after a long run of artist's block, but I'm glad I was able to turn up and do well in the final outcome. I'm really proud of how he came out and how he really does look like he's in flames! I hope you guys think this is hot! That's two down from the Fantastic Four and two to go! Flame on!!
