As someone that's looking into getting into digital drawing/coloring, this tutorial is fantastic. It's so simplistic and easy to understand. A lot of the other tutorials I've found have been more of "What I do" and not "How I do." Much appreciated.

Not to be blunt, but the examples here are fucking ugly. If you want a point to come across you must show people by setting a high standard!

Actually that is to be blunt. I refined these images only to the level necessary in a real picture. For instance the early cell shades look careless and blobbish because actual drawings with this method can start off careless and blobbish. It makes no difference after it's painted over. If you're complaining about the final image then I'm just not seeing it. I've done this time and time again and it looks perfect in context.

That might be true but i think it depends on the person who sees. Thanks to this tutorial i learned some new things about shading. To me that matters more than the examples that are shown. Of course you could always make higher quality pictures but as long as new artists like myself learns from them then they have done their job.
