I think this is the first post-Gaster handplates comic that I've really, really enjoyed and been into. After Asgore took the kids in, it was neat, but it felt kind of 'going through the motions'-ish, which is fine. But this comic really gave me chills!

I get the feeling that papyrus wasn't comforting Asgore. He was comforting Gaster, who was either trying to communicate with Asgore, or just had a mere presence in his dream. It just makes more sense to me. Plus it's more creepy that way XD.

XD It wouldn't surprise me if he does have a "spidey sense" for bad dreams. Like he wakes up super easy when he hears someone having a bad dream. I mean we already know that Paps rarely sleeps. He probably does that because he's used to waking up and having to comfort Sans.
That's why he's just there waiting patiently for Asgore to wake up so he can remind him that it's just a nightmare and not real, just like he does for Sans.....

Papyrus is pretty much the best, most lovable character ever. This applies to his canon appearance and every AU I've seen (except Underfell, of course)
