Over the course of the mid-twentieth century, the growing complexity of military hardware made the lifestyle choice of many in the Sekbani Confederacy obsolete. The loose alliance that had held together for centuries broke into complete lawlessness. During this time many foreign powers began taking a great interest in the region as ragnite became an extremely valuable commodity and the Sekbani Horn contained vast deposits scattered within the inland desert and concentrated off the Eastern coast. It is during this time that the Nordlændingenes Adelige Forbund made an alliance with a particularly wealthy patriarch of a Gor'fa clan to create a stable government in the region that could be backed by the military might of the N.A.F. The newly created puppet regime known as Al-As'han Yishun (or The Cooperative Council) benefited its imperial master by granting it a steady ragnite supply while the Council benefited from such governmental entanglement by enabling the luxury and safety of its oligarchs. But while the upper echelons of Sekbani society prospered greatly from the Council, many middle and lower class households could barely eke out an existence under the weight of property seizures, rampant job exploitation and safety violations found in the creation of Sekban ragnite companies like United Sebkan Ragnoleum. Tensions mounted during what became known as the "Saalif Massacre" where several protesters in the small ragnite-producing town of Saalif destroyed United Sekban Petroleum equipment and where subsequently gunned down by Council troops. This started a general uprising in the G'anta Valley region in central Sekban that gave birth to the group known as Al-Shviri Al-Q'itaan: meaning "People's Resistance Movement" or literally in Grebagh, "The People's Sword". The group is mostly composed of Shviri majority lower class former raiders who have used their former piracy experience to make the G'anta Valley inhospitable to Council forces or sympathizers, usually torturing and killing any in the area that do not take a militant stance against the Council and their N.A.F. puppeteers. Now the common folk of Sekban are confronted with a brutal war that has left no family untouched by death and sorrow.

A developing nation still rife with opportunity and economic advancement. Her main source of income is trade as the UFV holds vital sea routes that connect Umbra to east Oria. Shortly after the formation of the Greater Commonwealth of Sweltsland, the remaining monarchs in the northern lands attempted to form their own commonwealth to produce similar results. However only the southern areas prospered due to their close proximity to the GCS while their counterparts were met with limited success. In response the eastern lords began pooling their limited resources and financial wealth to purchase military equipment from their neighbors, the Aurorus-Nanjanese Empire and began their military conquest against anyone who opposed them. Many nations outsource their workforce to the UFV because of the nation's low minimum wage.

The Europan League
Formed in the wake of EWII, the Europan League is the first real attempt to foster peace in Europa. Headed by the Principality of Gallia, the former nations part of the Atlantic Federation and the Autocratic East Europan Imperial Alliance (semi) agreed to a new form of organization. Gallia itself is particularly invested in the EL because of the past violations of neutrality forced upon the small nation. The EL could hardly be called an united organization. Mired in disagreement and arguments, the EL always seems to be on the verge of collapse and the famine of 1964 was seen as the last straw. However, it had the opposite effect. The famine brought the whole of Europa closer together in ways threats of violence and statecraft ever could. In more modern times, the EL is slowly consolidating its strength and member states are slowly giving up more and more autonomy to the EL council. Subjects regarding to the second Europan War are still flash points for debate, along with Oepellia's denial of entry.

The Greater Commonwealth of Sweltsland

Sweltsland, was once one of the many states annexed by the old Autocratic East Europan Imperial Alliance in a bloody war of attrition. In the early 1600s, a young and expanding Empire set its sights on Sweltsland. The Swelts fought back with great ferocity, but one by one, the individual dutchies and princedoms within Sweltsland's Commonwealth began to surrender in droves to the Empire. Sweltsland had no choice but to capitulate and become part of the Autocratic East Europan Imperial Alliance. After the Second Europan War and the establishment of the Europan League, a vote was helf to determine the fate of a defeated Empire. It was decided that the AEEIA was to be partitioned, returning independence to many formerly annexed countries. Sweltslan was free again, and now, is more determined than ever to remain as such.

The cold but rich lands of the North have long been assumed to be the birthplace of the Valkyria Race. Despite this otherwise prestigious title, the Noble Federation of the Northlands is a very reserved country know for its ancient religions and steeped in tradition. The Northerners are known for their naval prowess and control the most powerful single state Navy in the Atlantic. The only navy that could possibly match the Noble Federation's is that of the ANE. Armchair generals argue amount themselves about which navy is better but the likelihood of these navies clashing is slim. Interestingly enough, the Noble Northland Federation is the only state in the EL that holds territories in the New World and those said territories are exempt from EL jurisdiction. Ragnite mining is one of the largest industries in the Northlands with the Top Notched Mines producing enough Ragnite to sustain half of the Europan Leauge's member states at a time. When the Sekbani Confederacy collapsed, the NAF saw an opprotunity and seized valuable territory. To this day, they control the Sekbani Maw with their puppet government, the Al-As'han Yishun.

La Republique Rayonnante

Once the main powerhouse of the Atlantic Federation, La Republique Rayonnante or the Vibrant Republic, weathered the Second Europan war well due to her powerful army and masterful constructed defenses. Even today, the Vibrant Republic maintains one of the most formidable land forces on the continent. Her army isn't the only thing impressive about the military of Vibrance, the integral defenses of EW I and II still stand proud and as strong as ever, surrounding the country in a wall of pillboxes, bunkers and turrets. These defenses and a powerful standing army are not unwarranted. Centuries of war and violence necessitated such a force despite unpopular support for such a massive military. Vibrance's military budgets is still one of the highest in Europa today, though many sections of her once great defensive lines are no longer maintained due to the creation of the Europan League. Vibrance is one of the greatest supporters of the EL, donating much of its military to the League's service.

  The United Arcerian Coalition

Modern historians proposed a theory in the 1950s in where the Arcerian people and the Sekbani tribes of Umbra shared a common culture that was lost to the annals of time. Both cultures shared a history of raiding and pirating, but the Acerians eventually settled down and eventually formed something resembling a government in the 1700s. The Arcerian Coalition would be tested in a war with the Autocratic East Europan Imperial Alliance in which the Coalition would lose its northern most territories to the Empire. This war was long forgotten as it became just another battlefield during the First Europan War. After the partition of the AEEIA, the northern region of the Arcerian Coalition was restored to it. Now, the Arcerian people are more interested in trade and peace than territorial expansion.

  Principality of Gallia
One of the most prominent members in the EL, Gallia headed the front to create peace and stability in Europa after both the second Europan War and the Gallian Civil War. Dispite the dysfunctional nature of of the EL, peace has been maintained despite the fairly idle military power of the EL.

The Kingdom of Azantine
It is said that the great Kingdom of Azantine was established by the Valkyur as early as the 50th year after their conquest of Europa. It is also said that it was the Valkyur who erected the great city of Kushtandina and her divine walls against the hordes of pagans and nonbelievers in Middle Oria and it is said that the purest of Valkyur blood resides with the Azantine People. At least, this is was the Othodox branch of Yggdism would have you believe. While it is true that the walls of Kushtandina are perhaps a wonder of engineering, there is nothing divine about them. Most members of the Othodox would cite the Autocratic East Europan Imperial Alliance's failed siege of Kushtandina as a sign of divine intervention. Modern Scholars believe that the siege of Kushtandina "failed" because the AEEIA needed the armies besieging the city to fight against the Republic of Vibrance in the first Europan War. Even today, the Walls of Kushtandina are a place of worship, kissed by many in the hopes that the divine walls in the hopes that some of the wall's blessing would rub off on them.

Other Nations

  Aurorus-Nanjanese Empire

With the decline of the former Empire of Nan'Jan and subsequent release of Borela from vassalage, the technologically superior and more militarily capable Kingdom of Borela slowly and surely picked apart the Aurous Principalities to its north. Eventually, Borela claimed the Aurous Principalities for her own. Not long after, The once powerful Empire of Nan'Jan, now stagnate and falling under its own weight, merged with the new Kingdom rather than fight the inevitable. In 1983, the Aurorus-Nanjanese Empire came into being with a royal marriage between the houses of Jing and Fritz, and with it, the rekindled flame that the former Empire of Nan'Jan lost. The ANE has reasserted its territorial claims on the Central Pacific Islands, causing much tension with the Federal Republic of Oepellia and later secured an alliance with the Dantali Dominion. In 1990, The ANE also brought a young Republic of East Yakiharii under its wing as a vassal state.

  People's Democratic Republic of Socialist Yakhiarii States
The nation otherwise known as West Yakiharii (West being the closes part of Yakiharii to the west. Cultural thing, don't ask) withdrew from the world state after its victory against the Republic of East Yakiharii in 1964 and the subsequent famine six years later. It remained a mystery for decades to come until an Oepellia Spy infiltrated the 'self sufficient' country in 1997. The Spy revealed that nearly 77 percent of West Yakiharii's population died during the famine of 1970. Either from starvation, or as part of a sickening plant to further reduce the population. The Spy also revealed that instead of trying to repopulate the country, West Yakiharii invested its time and energy in robotics, simply replacing the lost population with semi-autonomous machines. The Spy was forced to flee soon after, but this revelation made the world tremble.

   The Republic of East Yakiharii
Having lost a substantial amount of land during their 1964 conflict with West Yakiharii, East Yakiharii has thrown itself with the Empire of Nan'Jan and later the ANE for protection. The young republic entered an age of cultural transformation as its once conservative ideals were replaced by the Empire's more liberal culture. Thanks to the efforts of its people, East Yakiharii was able to stave off the worst of the 1964 famine and actually ensured both Nan'Jan and Borela did not starve.

  Leonhasa
Once a major superpower is Middle Oria, Leonhasa is now nothing more than a backwater nation desperately trying to maintain some semblance of order. In ancient times, the Leonhasa fought the Dantali for the land. They won, and pushed the Dantali peoples into waht the Leonahsa deemed as a worthless, mountains bay. Leonahsa was blessed with clean, flowing waters and bountiful harvests year after year. She boasted the largest population in Middle Oria and the strongest military in the world up until 1964. When the famine hit, it hit Leonhasa hard. Crops withered, rivers ceased to flow and Leonhasa's wealth dried up with their land. Leonhasa's once fertile plains have been reduced to sand stricken wastes. Her massive population is sustained only by desperate imports and world wide support. unable to maintain the statusquo under crushing debt, many political analysts fear that Leonhasa may do something desperate, either out of necessity, or worse, jealousy.

  Liti
The small Ragnite rich nation of Liti exists only because of tributes to its two larger neighbors. Culturally, Liti has more in common with the Dantali Federation and than her neighbors. This is a major point of tension, especially during the Famine when race wars in diverse living quarters erupted as food shortages became a part of life.

  Orihaka and Batruhaka
These sister nations share a common culture and a common hatred for each other. Despite sharing many, many qualities, Orihaka and Batruhaka's near constant disputes over minor territorial claims have left the region scarred and ruined. These disputes come from ancient maps of the region and are almost unrecognizable to any modern viewer. The largest disagreement over the map is which way the cardinal directions are. The famine of 1964 worsened the tension for a while but ultimately brought the two nations closer together for one reason; the two sister nations saw how well Liti was doing during the famine.

  Dasrelia
Formed after the second Europan War, the small nation was given to the oppressed Darcsen people as a refuge or as simply a way for Europan nations to dispose of their hated minority. The area the Darcsens were granted was poor and nearly unsuitable for living but the hardy Darcsen people carved out a living in the hot and rocky cliffs of the region. Plagued by Sekbani radicals and hostile neighbors, the Darcsens ensured their survival through mutual defense and economic pacts. The Dantali Federation is one of their most prominent allies in the region and still are to this day. When the famine hit, the Darcsen shouldered the burden like they did with all the other troubles that plagued them, with pride and distinction. Of all the nations hit hardest by the famine, Dasrelia rarely ever requested aid and even dedicated small amounts of aid to neighboring countries. After the famine, luck seemed to be on the Dacsen's side when precious stones, metals and gems were unearthed in their nation. Today Darsrelia is a wealthy nation almost as it is friendless.

  The New Ferrom Hegemony
A conglomeration of native tribes in the area that joined together to fight off Europan colonization, unlike their cousins to the north. The NFH is a highly xenophobic nation but is not without compassion, at least when specific tribes are chosen as head of state. In the NFH, no one man or woman leads the nation, rather the ruling council of a respective tribe. The NFH has been known to flop between blatant warmongering and then diplomatic openness. The nation was not hit hard by the famine and openly aided many other nations, before promptly skirmishing in a blood feud with one of Oepellia's most prominent tribes. The modern NFH is an agricultural powerhouse, with the current tribe focusing on growing massive amounts of corn to please their cob deity.

  The Dutchy of Strna
Once a small and unassuming city state in the Mediterranean Sea, Strna only became a place relevance (and a target) when it built a major canal into the Reed Sea. This one act allowed ships from Europa to reach the riches of the Dentali Dominion and far east Oria in half the usual time. The little dutchy has since grown into a massive economic presence with a professional security corporation to enforce its policies.

Arunje Sultanate
In ages past, the lands that would become the Arunje Sultanate were inhabitied by desert dwelling nomads and river farmers. Petty kingdoms and city states did exist, but they could hardly be compared to the grand cities in Europa or East Oria. All that would change when the Valkyrur invaded Middle Oria. The ancient nomadic tribes and farmers were no match for the grand armies of the Valkyur, who swept through Middle Oria. They were only stopped when a king that history remembers as Osman the Illuminated. Arunje historians and Priests of Illumitar both agree that Osman was a young farmer who escaped capture as the Valkyrur burned his village. After traveling the desert for four days and four nights, on the morning of the fifth day, a voice echoing from the orange, morning sun spoke to Osman. The exact words were lost and corrupted through history, but whatever Osman heard was powerful enough to unite the nomads and the many kingdoms and city states of Middle Oria. What had taken the Valkyur decades to conquer was reversed in five years. The wrath of Osman and his "Arunje" was so great that only the divine walls of Kushtandina were able to stop his advance.
The Arunje Sultanate was established in with the faith of the one, Illumitar as the state's religion.
The Arunje Sultanate would prove to be Europa's greatest foe. And with Europa's disunity after the Valkyrur vanished, there was little Europa could do against the Arunje. The Arunje would expand heavily into Northern Umbra, Middle and Central Oria and into Eastern Europa. Some historians speculate that the Formation of the Autocratic East Europan Alliance was to counter the growing threat of the Arunje. However, time did what nations could not. After the first Europan War, the Arunje Sultanate fell into a period of instability. Preachers began boasting about how to "properly" worship Illumitar. The Sultanate fractured with the death of Mehmed the Weak in 1920, expecting his weak heir to be the death of the Arunje. However, Mehmed the Bright would prove his critics wrong. Mehmed the bright was physically weak, but his will and intellect kept some of the Arunje Sultanate together. Mehmed the Bright instituted several sweeping reforms, political and religious. Mehmed himself admits his guidance was revived from Illumitar along with a blessing. While historians and priests debate Illumitar's message to Mehmed the Bright, none can deny Illumitar's blessing seeing as how Mehmed the Bright is still sultan of the Arunje.

With the decline of the former Empire of Nan'Jan and subsequent release of Borela from vassalage, the technologically superior and more militarily capable Kingdom of Borela slowly and surely picked apart the Aurous Principalities to its north. Eventually, Borela claimed the Aurous Principalities for her own. Not long after, The once powerful Empire of Nan'Jan, now stagnate and falling under its own weight, merged with the new Kingdom rather than fight the inevitable. In 1983, the Aurorus-Nanjanese Empire came into being with a royal marriage between the houses of Jing and Fritz, and with it, the rekindled flame that the former Empire of Nan'Jan lost. The ANE has reasserted its territorial claims on the Central Pacific Islands, causing much tension with the Federal Republic of Oepellia and later secured an alliance with the Dantali Dominion. In 1990, The ANE also brought a young Republic of East Yakiharii under its wing as a vassal state.

  People's Democratic Republic of Socialist Yakhiarii States
The nation otherwise known as West Yakiharii (West being the closes part of Yakiharii to the west. Cultural thing, don't ask) withdrew from the world state after its victory against the Republic of East Yakiharii in 1964 and the subsequent famine six years later. It remained a mystery for decades to come until an Oepellia Spy infiltrated the 'self sufficient' country in 1997. The Spy revealed that nearly 77 percent of West Yakiharii's population died during the famine of 1970. Either from starvation, or as part of a sickening plant to further reduce the population. The Spy also revealed that instead of trying to repopulate the country, West Yakiharii invested its time and energy in robotics, simply replacing the lost population with semi-autonomous machines. The Spy was forced to flee soon after, but this revelation made the world tremble.

   The Republic of East Yakiharii
Having lost a substantial amount of land during their 1964 conflict with West Yakiharii, East Yakiharii has thrown itself with the Empire of Nan'Jan and later the ANE for protection. The young republic entered an age of cultural transformation as its once conservative ideals were replaced by the Empire's more liberal culture. Thanks to the efforts of its people, East Yakiharii was able to stave off the worst of the 1964 famine and actually ensured both Nan'Jan and Borela did not starve.

  Leonhasa
Once a major superpower is Middle Oria, Leonhasa is now nothing more than a backwater nation desperately trying to maintain some semblance of order. In ancient times, the Leonhasa fought the Dantali for the land. They won, and pushed the Dantali peoples into waht the Leonahsa deemed as a worthless, mountains bay. Leonahsa was blessed with clean, flowing waters and bountiful harvests year after year. She boasted the largest population in Middle Oria and the strongest military in the world up until 1964. When the famine hit, it hit Leonhasa hard. Crops withered, rivers ceased to flow and Leonhasa's wealth dried up with their land. Leonhasa's once fertile plains have been reduced to sand stricken wastes. Her massive population is sustained only by desperate imports and world wide support. unable to maintain the statusquo under crushing debt, many political analysts fear that Leonhasa may do something desperate, either out of necessity, or worse, jealousy.

  Liti
The small Ragnite rich nation of Liti exists only because of tributes to its two larger neighbors. Culturally, Liti has more in common with the Dantali Federation and than her neighbors. This is a major point of tension, especially during the Famine when race wars in diverse living quarters erupted as food shortages became a part of life.

  Orihaka and Batruhaka
These sister nations share a common culture and a common hatred for each other. Despite sharing many, many qualities, Orihaka and Batruhaka's near constant disputes over minor territorial claims have left the region scarred and ruined. These disputes come from ancient maps of the region and are almost unrecognizable to any modern viewer. The largest disagreement over the map is which way the cardinal directions are. The famine of 1964 worsened the tension for a while but ultimately brought the two nations closer together for one reason; the two sister nations saw how well Liti was doing during the famine.

  Dasrelia
Formed after the second Europan War, the small nation was given to the oppressed Darcsen people as a refuge or as simply a way for Europan nations to dispose of their hated minority. The area the Darcsens were granted was poor and nearly unsuitable for living but the hardy Darcsen people carved out a living in the hot and rocky cliffs of the region. Plagued by Sekbani radicals and hostile neighbors, the Darcsens ensured their survival through mutual defense and economic pacts. The Dantali Federation is one of their most prominent allies in the region and still are to this day. When the famine hit, the Darcsen shouldered the burden like they did with all the other troubles that plagued them, with pride and distinction. Of all the nations hit hardest by the famine, Dasrelia rarely ever requested aid and even dedicated small amounts of aid to neighboring countries. After the famine, luck seemed to be on the Dacsen's side when precious stones, metals and gems were unearthed in their nation. Today Darsrelia is a wealthy nation almost as it is friendless.

  The New Ferrom Hegemony
A conglomeration of native tribes in the area that joined together to fight off Europan colonization, unlike their cousins to the north. The NFH is a highly xenophobic nation but is not without compassion, at least when specific tribes are chosen as head of state. In the NFH, no one man or woman leads the nation, rather the ruling council of a respective tribe. The NFH has been known to flop between blatant warmongering and then diplomatic openness. The nation was not hit hard by the famine and openly aided many other nations, before promptly skirmishing in a blood feud with one of Oepellia's most prominent tribes. The modern NFH is an agricultural powerhouse, with the current tribe focusing on growing massive amounts of corn to please their cob deity.

  The Dutchy of Strna
Once a small and unassuming city state in the Mediterranean Sea, Strna only became a place relevance (and a target) when it built a major canal into the Reed Sea. This one act allowed ships from Europa to reach the riches of the Dentali Dominion and far east Oria in half the usual time. The little dutchy has since grown into a massive economic presence with a professional security corporation to enforce its policies.

Arunje Sultanate
In ages past, the lands that would become the Arunje Sultanate were inhabitied by desert dwelling nomads and river farmers. Petty kingdoms and city states did exist, but they could hardly be compared to the grand cities in Europa or East Oria. All that would change when the Valkyrur invaded Middle Oria. The ancient nomadic tribes and farmers were no match for the grand armies of the Valkyur, who swept through Middle Oria. They were only stopped when a king that history remembers as Osman the Illuminated. Arunje historians and Priests of Illumitar both agree that Osman was a young farmer who escaped capture as the Valkyrur burned his village. After traveling the desert for four days and four nights, on the morning of the fifth day, a voice echoing from the orange, morning sun spoke to Osman. The exact words were lost and corrupted through history, but whatever Osman heard was powerful enough to unite the nomads and the many kingdoms and city states of Middle Oria. What had taken the Valkyur decades to conquer was reversed in five years. The wrath of Osman and his "Arunje" was so great that only the divine walls of Kushtandina were able to stop his advance.
The Arunje Sultanate was established in with the faith of the one, Illumitar as the state's religion.
The Arunje Sultanate would prove to be Europa's greatest foe. And with Europa's disunity after the Valkyrur vanished, there was little Europa could do against the Arunje. The Arunje would expand heavily into Northern Umbra, Middle and Central Oria and into Eastern Europa. Some historians speculate that the Formation of the Autocratic East Europan Alliance was to counter the growing threat of the Arunje. However, time did what nations could not. After the first Europan War, the Arunje Sultanate fell into a period of instability. Preachers began boasting about how to "properly" worship Illumitar. The Sultanate fractured with the death of Mehmed the Weak in 1920, expecting his weak heir to be the death of the Arunje. However, Mehmed the Bright would prove his critics wrong. Mehmed the bright was physically weak, but his will and intellect kept some of the Arunje Sultanate together. Mehmed the Bright instituted several sweeping reforms, political and religious. Mehmed himself admits his guidance was revived from Illumitar along with a blessing. While historians and priests debate Illumitar's message to Mehmed the Bright, none can deny Illumitar's blessing seeing as how Mehmed the Bright is still sultan of the Arunje.
