Anyway, and amid all that uni work I decided to do this. What a wonderful idea that was. Anyway, this is a botched depiction of my Commander Shepard - Tanya. The background is not exactly in keeping with the Mass Effect universe but then this image is based on a much-better-looking-image-than-this that appeared to me in a dream about a month ago. Anticipation of Mass Effect 2 and cheese before bedtime were involved and it produced my Shepard, very close to the model I created in-game, even down to the Colossus armour, as the heroine of one of these dreams. These dreams I like to call "epic" dreams because they suddenly spout almost-tangible story lines, ensemble casts and play out like I'm watching a film. In the past, some of these dreams have spurned a real story - not that it's finished yet...
And here, in my dream, was Shepard, close-up, calm in a field as simpletons panicked around her, striking a heroic pose as she placed her helmet on her head and set off to do battle.
Quite epic, if you overlook the fact that the setting was Medieval Europe...

Aynho, as I say, this was an attempt to recreate the image that popped into my head. It started off well but, after leaving the face until last, thinking it was the area that I'd most enjoy doing, it turned into a horrible slog that took easily as much time as the rest of the piece put together and I'm still oh-so-unhappy with it. It's not as good as I was hoping for - I think it's rather uninspiring, and I look at it and sense something blatant and glaringly wrong with it but I've lost the mental capacity and the time to decide not only what it is but what the hell I can do with it...
...but I felt the desire to be arty again, and I did want to share it with you. Any pointers would be very gratefully received.

Must say, this is still only really Mass Effect 1 fanart as I won't be able to play Mass Effect 2 until April. Had another dream about Mass Effect that I thought actually included an interesting game-play feature. May jot that down if I have the time...
