Description
With this Action, you get rid of the white in your drawings. It extracts your black outlines and leaves them surrounded by pure transparent nothingness!!CAUTION: This Action works only with FLATTENED images. RGB and Grayscale will do.
Recomendation: before playing the action on your lineart, clean it up with curves or levels, and erase any unwanted spots.

A useful action...if I could come past the earlier mentioned 'the object "RGB channel of Background" is not currently available.' alert box.
This alert box pos up when trying to work on layered as well as flattened images. In RGB mode, and in grey mode...
Any suggestions?

This is strange. I'm trying this action at home and at the office on different computers and versions of Photoshop, and still I don't get the alert box.
What languaje is your PS? It may be that your background is not actually called "background" on your PS version.
Anyway, does the action actually work for you?

What do you get when you press the "download" link at the left? You should be prompted to download the "WhiteToTransp.atn" file.

Baja la AcciΓ³n (clic sobre "Download" que estΓ‘ al lado izquierdo de la imagen)
Abre Photoshop
MenΓΊ Window > Actions (despliega la paleta Actions)
Haz clic sobre el botoncito que despliega un menΓΊ en la paleta Actions
Elige "Load Action..."
Selecciona la acciΓ³n (tendrΓ‘s que buscarla en la carpeta donde la bajaste)

Oh, well that's because you're running the action on a grayscale image. This action can run on both RGB and grayscale images, only it will complain about RGB garbage when the image is not RGB lol
