Quick storyToday, someone approached me after seeing one of my paintings and asked to see samples for commission purposes (commission!). They wanted to see full-body drawings, but I had none of showing quality x_x (so, of course, I rushed and drew this haha)
Moral of the story: If you're an artist, always have a portfolio within reach.

Perhaps the free sketches can act as portfolios? Since it's in your style of art, we get to see how you approach anothers vision with your own hands, thus better prepared before askin' for a comission. ^^

I considered it since those are coming along really well, but I didn't have my computer with me to show. I ended up showing them my deviantart gallery (which was kind of embarrassing since they were looking for the kind of detailed work I do for school)

Well looking at DA gallery, I've never really seen anything embarrassing about it but that's just me so I believe it's more from an artist perspective. Do you happen to sketch on sketchpads by any chance? If not I'd recommend getting one and using it as a form off just cooling off and just sketch what you feel/like since that may provide a more..expressful approach?

I do have one, but I didn't have it on me during that specific moment D: That was some tough luck. I think the best I can do is save everything I make to Google Drive so I can access it from my phone (which I always have on me)

Oh, may you provide an opinion on the sketch I'm doing? Or as it turned into a free request rather.
