My Yu-Gi-Oh! GX OC Azure Cross (Dub) or Kamiya Aito (神矢曖渡) (Japanese)

Took a little break from these for a bit, but I suppose it's time to get back at the visual-novel-style Sprites if I ever plan to get anything done with them...

Here Azure appears in his original Obelisk Blue Uniform. Initially Azure takes pride in being accepted into the most prestigious of Dorms at Duel Academy, However, that pride is swiftly diminished when he learns the truth about the Obelisk Blue students. While some Obelisks, such as Zane and Atticus seem to have the skills worthy of Obelisks' reputation, most of the other Blue Students Azure encounters are simply duelists from wealthy families who bought their way into the dorm, or girls who are instantly offered a place among the Obelisk Students due to their dorm accommodations. As a serious Duelist, Azure finds these methods of rating duelists despicable, and believes that Duelists should be judged based on their skill level rather than their gender or how much money they have, which is why he eventually makes the switch to Slifer Red's dorm, as he comes to respect several of the Red students more than most of the Blue students. There are few things Azure takes more seriously than Dueling, and that attitude rightfully places him among the schools most elite students. Azure is extremely confident in his abilities, but takes care not to stray into arrogance. He is not above admitting when someone is more skilled than he is, but will absolutely show no mercy to those below his skill level. While he can sometimes come across as harsh, Azure wants to push people into realizing their full potential by experiencing loss and failure, as he has done many times in the past. Backing up his confidence as a duelist is his Monarch Deck which focuses on advance summoning strong monsters with powerful abilities and locking his opponents out of Fusion summoning - a popular summoning mechanic among Duel Academy Students. Early On, Azure is seen by many as a no-nonsense kind of person who rarely cracks a smile, but after switching to Slifer Red, he seems to let his guard down a bit more often.

So here's a little secret about Azure... he is the only Yugioh OC that I've created who does not have any connection to my other OC's. Outside of directly interacting with Cain, he does not follow the same lore as my other OC's and is a completely standalone character. This means that if any of my OC's were to appear as a legacy character in the Arc-V story, Azure is (so far) the only feasible candidate among all my OC's from DM to Zexal. No Spoilers, but it would not be possible for Devan, Cain, Zero, or Vega to appear in Arc-V.

And so another Sprite is finished, and now I'm left with just a handful of stragglers. From here on out, the only other characters getting this sprite treatment are characters I've never actually drawn before, so they might take some extra time. That being said, while I've yet to ever draw the remaining characters, they have been conceptualized for quite a while now, and some of them might even be familiar if you've read my fanfictions.
