So! I have been watching the new Ducktales series. I was really nervous and against it for a long time, because I was born in 1995 and I was used to (and loved) the original series, and was TERRIFIED that they might have ruined it with this reboot. Well, since I returned from camp on Sunday, I have watched the whole series, and while it is NOT the original series...I HAVE BECOME VERY ATTACHED to this new series! Sure, there are a few character changes I wasn't a hundred percent happy with (*cough* Gyro *cough*), but the story line, animation, and new depth to these characters is AMAZING!I really like the rebooted version/character of Webby, because unlike the original, who was really just an annoying little girl the triplets were always trying to ditch (because eeeew girls!), she is AWESOME. She's adventurous, funny, caring, and mischievious. To the point that even the boys have trouble keeping up with her intense passion for life.Β
On that note, here's a little sketch I did. Lines are a little shaky, seeing as I drew it with my mouse (yeah, still don't have a tablet
). Faded the colors a bit for a warmer colored effect. ^^

GodΒ I always feel the same way when a reboot ever Β comes out cuz can you really hold a candle to theΒ original series of your fav cartoon...sadly most I seen can'tΒ and more so do end up ruining my childhood...): but I do kind of want to give this reboot a chance.Β (:Β chance

i like the original better. It looks more detailed even for Ducktales being that old. My mom showed me the old original version and i love how colourful it is. I don't really like the sharp tones to the animation of the new Ducktales but you're really good at drawing them. Looks like the show. Good job!

Awww she's adorable! I haven't actually seen the original (or the new one for that matter) but I've heard a little bit here and there. Good to hear they've added more depth to this little girl, that's marvellous.Β

OOh I felt in the same way that you, I loved old Ducktales, but when the new one were airdated, I decided to get them a chance, ad I loved them since the begining, I found Donald very protective, like a real father for the boys, and the fact that he appears more often than in the old Ducktales. Another fact that I love that they made diferent personalities for the triplets, that was a critical good change, because it's true that they're triplets, but their still different people (my favourite one is Huey by the way). And as you say, I love how they made Webby, she plays an interesting role here, specially with the new character (Lena).
In fact I like most of the characters of those new Ducktales, but for example I prefer Dufoos personality from the old Ducktales, in the new show I fins him creepy, but is my point of view.
And another very interesting thing, or at least I see it in that way, is the fact that finally we can know what happened to the triplets mother, Della.
I think I talk too much, but I definitely love this new reboot, I still love the old Ducktales, but this new is awesome!!!

Exactly! I like seeing more of Donald, and the fact that there is some pretty intense backstory between him, Scrooge, and Della Duck. It's actually very emotional. I like the fact that it explains why he took the boys in, and raised them, as well as why he is so protective of them. YES! Different personalities for the triplets was a fantastic idea. Instead of the three being interchangeable, other than their colors, it brings new life to the characters. I think my favorite is Dewey, only because, of the three, he is the one most intuned to his emotions and the emotions of those around him. ^^ Yep, I love the new Webby, and having a new character like Lena adds a whole new perspective...and possible danger

Hehehe, yes they made an awesome job with the backstory some secrets that we never thought they could be showed are seeing the light.
Okey I think my favourite triplet is Huey because he's the eldest triplet and because of that, he feels that he's to be the responsible one, so he tries to be responsible. He also is very protective with his siblings and also tries to make everybody happy, as we can see in the "The Beagle Birthday Massacre!" Episode.
Yes Lena is an interesting charecter, I'm dying to see what will happen in The Shadow War episode
As you, Gyro is kind a... strange scientist and a little much unsociable. Talking about Fenton, I totally love him, and the fact that he's Gyro assistant makes an interesting role for him.
About Fenton, I totally love his mother in this new reboot, in the old Ducktales she was... meeh, but here as a police officer is more interesting.
I think we can talk hours and hours about every character, because everyone seems to have a deep personality

Oooo, good point! Huey is the more responsible one for sure. He is very by the book, sticking to rules, but also coming up with plans. He likes facts and logic, and he's smart! Good choice! ^^

Yeah, I found Gyro to be rather unkind and impatient, which is VERY different from the original, but I'm getting a little used to him, so it's fine.

I sketch on paper. Usually I then scan it into the computer, but recently I have been taking a picture of it with my phone, sending it to myself, and then digitally drawing over it...Which is tricky, since I only have a mouse, no tablet ^^

Yeah I scan everything over, especially my comic pages. But yeah its lot easy to just scan it over then color over it.

Hey, I used to watch the original Ducktales as well, though while it wasn't on tv. The episodes were on a few vhs tapes and a DVD collection, but I feel like the reboot has done an awesome job with keeping the original vibes of the show in place. And trust me, when Magica showed up in the reboot, I screamed with joy about it, ahh!!!

I loved Magica in general! Her flair, her way of speaking, and especially her accent, ahh! It's one of those parts of my childhood that makes me with I was born before 2000. I feel like I would've fit in with the crowd more.
