Description
Sorry it's not much. cruddy lineart and only light shading, but I'm too busy right now to do much. Nothing's worse than back-to-back french and careers class.Nothing.
I greyscaled the image, to see what it would look like. i don't know how people can make their images so smooth and perfect. Mine always look wrinkly and faded.
Ah well. Blarg.

Wow this is very well designed and drawn, makes a good art referance. deffinently worth a fav.
CRITIQUE: (dont take what I am about to say too harshly) Its a simple yet very efficiant soldier concept design. I can imagine a duzen other stuff you can add to this for various functions. Not to mension it looks like it can easly be drawn seviral times over and you can get the same look down as good as the last. Although what I dont like about it is that you could have added more detail to the over all drawing. Some shadeing on the gun, under cloth and armor would be nice. But then again shadeing on the armor and gun would be different depending on the mood your going fore. If you want a scratched battle worn suit then shadeing and some dirt would be nice, but if you going for a clean out of the factory look then its fine how it is right now.
I appoligize for faveing this before commenting!

I would have shaded this like i do with my other ones, but I'm just too busy right now with school. I didn't want to spend a month wittling away at this. Also, i would have gone for scratched and battle-worn, but I haven't gained the skill for that (yet)
And thanks for faving!

Well you dont realy have to spend an entire month on a single drawing. I suggest that you take art sessions, on weekend or when you have free time. These art sessions can be 1 to 6 hours long. Just make sure that you are able to think properly and have no distractions around you.
As for skill in drawing battle-worn armor, its realy simple. I would sugest that you take a different shade of pencil, such as 9b or 8b and gently draw it across the areas you want to make look worn down and make sure not to apply little to almost no pressure. This comes before or after shadeing, I use it after. You can also use a very sharp pencil to make scratches. (mechanical pencil works best) And for even more battle-worn look I would sugest that you have your armor with chiped edges and corners, like they some times have in War Hammer 40k.

well alot of people draw on the computer using a pen and tablet.. you cant see eraser lines or hand smudging or even a texture of paper.. thats how they get em smooth or perfect. if you want to though you can try to find some finer grained paper.. it might help it out a bit, that stuff your using looks kinda rough, maybe its sketch paper or some thing? anyways cool soldier concept

Yeah, I should use better paper. All i use is normal cartridge paper. I don't know why the scanner made those vertical lines on the page though...
