Elizabeth's POV:

I am seriously going to die here.

Was my predominant thought as I was lying face up on the cool rock ground floor of the caves. I just took off the mining boots they had assigned me, my socks and partially unbuttoned my jumpsuit. Sweat was falling through my body like a river. I don't think I had work that hard since..... I can't even remember.

After a few hours of hitting the rock walls, learning to identify the minerals, and at the same time using my essence powers it caused me to use all of my strength. I felt I was at my limit when I saw my collections basket and mine was the lowest of all the crew which made me feel depressed after all that work. My body was burning from the inside out and it felt like every muscle fiber in my body was at its limit I would not call it essence overuse, but close enough.

I was breathing heavily not even thinking about eating my lunch since I felt that any food that entered my mouth will just go out in the form of vomiting.

"Hey there Liz how are you feeling on your first day? If it's anything like my own you will be feeling like you are about to die from exhaustion" she said while pocking me in the arm, which even that hurt.

"You are telling me that I have at least four more hours of this insanity? Who came up with this system?" I complained to her

"Well Rihg did and it is actually a pretty good pace compared to others, most teams barely have a rest and we get a 1-hour break every 4 hours which I honestly consider a blessing. Well with that said let's get you feeling better it's time to do my job" she said with a slight smirk on her face.

She suddenly grabbed both of my hands that were extended already over my head and I felt something cold going down through them. It took me a second to figure out what was going on, she was using her essence, from what I remember from my childhood lessons must have had a water affinity that is related to healing, but not really in any miraculous sense. I slightly remember that it was more related to relieving pain and improving circulation, something that was useful for people in pain, like myself right now.

"What are you doing exactly?" I asked without moving my arms from the position that I had them, but I started to feel the cold sensation spreading through my whole body. I could feel how my pain, fatigue, and exhaustion were leaving my body. I could correlate the sensation to how I felt once when I was on some thermal waters on a vacation with my friends.

"Fueeeeehhhhhhhhhhhh, oh deity that feels so good, please do not stop," I told her but she did not get back to me and just continued concentrating on me. After a few minutes, she took her hands off mine.

"Ok, that should be enough how is your body feeling," Tesia asked.

I stood up and there was some slight soreness in the muscles but nothing like the burning muscle pain that I was feeling before.

"For the light that feels good, I have never really gotten healed by a water essencer, I feel as if I just woke up," I said with some small enthusiasm.

"Well good because you have like 30 minutes in your break and it's back to mining," she said with a smirk.

" I only took some of the fatigue away and not all of it since it has been put on the records that you need a certain amount of fatigue in the muscles to grow stronger, if I took everything all the time then you will not grow in strength and since essence powers are connected to the constitution of your body, well basically means that you need to get tired… a lot".

" I remember hearing something about that somewhere in my lessons when I was a kid, but can't really remember too much about it". I said.

"Well, how about you tell me some about that while we have some of our lunch is that a deal?" She said while smiling.

"Ok sounds like a deal"
