back in the late 80's I fell in deep for the music of Thelonius Monk, and this is a loose illustration of him based on one of the more common photos of him in circulation. essentially a never to be finished piece in my sketchbooks since 1994 (I just didn't see what i could do with it), after a little dodging/burning/colorizing, it transformed itself. The original was acrylic inks, and on elayer of iridecsent painy.Related content

I really like the style here. Alot is achieved with quite minimal use of colours and lines. Makes the image very pleasant to look at.
