Cole Robinson is a resident of Neo Detroit in the year 2055, also known by residents as Grind City, a city of advanced technology and scientific breakthroughs, but also rampant criminal activity and powerful gangs. After witnessing the murder of his brother at the wrath of one of these gangs and tired of the police dragging their feet apprehending them, Cole decides to fight them himself, though circumstances would eventually expand his fight to the other gangs and ally with other vigilantes doing the same.

Owing to years of martial arts training and other skills sparked by an interest in kung fu and ninjas in tv and movies, Cole is skilled in hand-to-hand combat and stealth tactics. He also relies on an arsenal of gadgets, gifted to him by fellow vigilante Rita Hernandez. These gadgets include (but are not limited to) a range of throwing knives with different additions (including tasers, sonic paralyzers, and concussive explosives), a pair of tech bracers with functions including cutting lasers and grappling hooks, a pair of high-tech shades that offer a heads-up display and different vision modes (including infrared, ultraviolet, and a scanner), and his strongest weapon, a plasma blade sword that can cut through tough metals.
