Description The shadow of Saint Nicolas. The taker of hope. The bringer of misery to all who are greedy and spread hate during the holidays.

(After seeing Krampus yesterday, I knew I had to draw this ASAP. Great movie, I definitely recommend you see it.)

Krampus' origin's for the Havoc Days and Monstrosities universe is that he was a demon of hell. Residing in the circle of greed, Krampus escaped from that underworld when the dark ages started and many demons escaped into the world. He emerged in Germany during the winter and started terrorizing everyone, especially those who take without need and bring hate and anger to those around them. His reign of terror would go on for a century before an enemy to Krampus would appear. Known as a Saint, Nicolas Klaus was a warrior fighting against the darkness and came to Germany to stop this demon. Fighting Krampus was of little effect, because he fed off the greed and hate, he was virtually undefeatable. Though Saint Nicolas found that best way to fight against greed and hate was to go to houses during Christ's Mass and leave gifts, spreading generosity and cheer to the people and giving them hope. With the strength of the people's hope, Saint Nick easily defeated Krampus and injured him so harshly that he would spend the next three seasons recovering.

For centuries, Saint Nick and Krampus would fight each other for the decision of whether the children of the world would taken to hell for their greed or continue living so they can show their generosity. This went on til their most monumental fight opened a portal to another world and they fell into it. After their disappearance, they both became figures of myth to the people of the world as more time went on. In reality Saint Nicolas is another world with other Holiday Figures and leads them to make sure our world will always have holidays. During Christmas, Krampus always tries to find a way back to our world but Saint Nicolas is always at the gateway ready to keep Krampus from returning, even if it means defending people who don't believe in him anymore.

Krampus is supernaturally strong and fast, he is able to see the evil in people and with that knows who to go after. With his chain hook, Krampus grabs his victims with it and drags them to hell. Just like the new movie, this Krampus has dark elves and demonic toys ready to cause terror when they return to our world. The chains all over Krampus represent his former imprisonment in hell and his current imprisonment in the Other World and their sound is an early warning sign of his arrival just like sleigh bells are an early sign of Saint Nick's arrival.

Krampus has faced off against Req and The Monstrosities multiple times and if you want to see the characters for those, here are the galleries

Have you considered drawing his minions (the evil toys, the elves, the yule goats and the snow beasts)?

Cool! But I have one question, was krampus gain his deer like appearance when he escaped or was he always like this?

Thogh you want bad guys for Christmas, try Gryla and her family. They're a whole group of people worse than Krampus. KRampus is essentially a Yeti displinarian who, yes, does eat kdis but is still seen as a good guy by most of Europe and even celebrates him at times.

Gryla? Heh, she's not seen as a good guy at all. In fact, she's got sck pleasure in being a canabalistic monster and her children, the Yule Lads, are very mischivous people who take sick pleasure and oing odd things to people to mess around with them. Nd that's not ging into their pet, the Yule Cat. A greedy feline that will kill you if you don't give it something that will please it.

Zigwolf In reply to Shadow-DJ [2015-12-13 05:41:43 +0000 UTC]

Well that does sound like a despicable villain, but when it comes to these two, it's all about familiarity. I will keep choosing Krampus as the main villain of Christmas because he's more known, especially now, as the anti-Santa of Christmas. If you try and introduce Gryla and her horrible brood then a lot of people will need an explanation on who they are.

Shadow-DJ In reply to Zigwolf [2015-12-13 05:51:02 +0000 UTC]

That is true

In Grimmwoods, we got a LOT of lesser known characters and villains making appearances, not just Krampus and Santa Claus Heck, we got Jack O'Lantern, real name 'Stingy Jack', is one of the main guardians and the spirit of Halloween

Yeah...he's our 'Fourth Guardia' instead of JAck Frost, who's part of Santa's cohorts along with Krampus. In Grimmwoods, Stingy Jack was a drunk who made the grim reaper himself, Thanatos, angry and it resulted in him being cursed into a pumpkin, which was hexed and gave him dark magical powers, turning him into at trickster spirit of Hallows Eve and the only one keeping the famous monsters such as Dracula, Mr. Hyde and many others from causing pain and misery in Grimmwoods. The Pumpkin thing is newer for him as he still uses a hallowed turnip as a lamp like in the story XP Basically speaking, he's a ghost in a pumpkin body.

Hmmm, not bad. That's a very good story for a mascot to Halloween.

In the original tale, it involved satan, not the reaper

You should bro, it was such a good movie. I'd give it a 8.5/10, it's entertaining and a good alternative to watch instead of every feel good Christmas movie that is shown every year.

Thanks! He came out exactly as awesome as I wanted him to.

In the movie krampus he was wearing a human skin looking mask of Santa Claus.

An1m3T0TH3MAX In reply to Zigwolf [2015-12-10 05:30:27 +0000 UTC]

No if you look closely around the rim of his eyes you can clearly see the cut off between the human like mask and the dark red skin with his demonic goat eyes. It was clear it was making reference to the director previous work having some monster and spirit wearing costume and human skins as disguises.

Zigwolf In reply to An1m3T0TH3MAX [2015-12-10 06:37:43 +0000 UTC]

I did notice that from the few glimpses they gave us of his face but when I look at his mouth I see it really stretched out which should be hard for mask made of skin and that they showed the inside of his mouth which should of shown a face underneath if it was a mask. I just think that he might of had a more monstrous look underneath the demonic human face, but that was his real face. A lot of the depictions of Krampus have him with a human face, so that could be the case here.

Awesome-looking design for the Krampus and a cool story behind it.

Holy mother of all that's holy, that is beautiful (funny, since he's a monster). So, monstrosities and havoc days exist together? That's awesome!!!! Can't wait to see St. Nick, plus your story of how he started is interesting, shorter than mine. Speaking of which I'm gonna try and send Jack OLantern by the weekend. (Also since you've come up with a great idea for Krampis, mind helping me out when I get started for my second Santa story, since yours is great). anyway see ya.

Zigwolf In reply to Bookdud3 [2015-12-10 06:16:27 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. Yes they exist in the same universe. In fact, there might be some characters of each series shown in the other. These two series also exist alongside Hybrids, The Devil's Candy, and possibly Gamer. (Yeah, I can help out with Santa's story)

Bookdud3 In reply to Zigwolf [2015-12-14 04:11:28 +0000 UTC]

Ok thanks.

Ok, so yeah I know Devil's candy exists in it, but how does Hybrids?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zigwolf In reply to Bookdud3 [2015-12-14 07:42:33 +0000 UTC]

Well I think Hybrids shows the scientific/biologic side of the world while Monstrosities shows the magical side. Plus both take place in certain locations so it would be easy to show why the both don't know about each other until their eventual crossover.
