I always get asked how I do my items..So, I made a tutorial for a more recent style I've been using.
This is one of my many ways of doing items.

Once there was a little girl called Clarissa, she was ten-years-old and she lived in a mental
hospital, because she killed her mom and her dad. She got so bad she went to kill all the

Just checking, At 1.2 dont you mean density instead of opacity (in sai)?
And you mustnt switch between Sai and PS if people done have both, you can lock layers in sai too as shown above and just use a soft rounded brush to get something similar to the gradient tool. :3

I never thought of doing a gradient before shading, hurr. I usually do the hue changes manually when I shade
