Description "Grrr... why won't you fight? Are you a coward?"

Hot-headed little Dogtanian proving his competence as one of the King's Muskehounds in an all-too-confrontational manner. As usual.

I recently bought the DVD's of the series based on Alexandre Dumas' classic novel 'The Three Musketeers', produced by BRB Internacional back in 1981 and proceeded to watch them an episode a day for a few weeks. Now that there's good viewin'. Heh heh. Fan-art followed, as is often does, and we arrive at this picture.

Mon dieu! This is my first attempt at drawing the brave young pup too. More may follow in the months after the University course.

'Dogtanian' Β© BRB Internacional, 1981, 2004.

"Very well monsieur. I was going to leave you be as you are a pup of formative years and I didn't want to hurt you. Usally I would have Bess deal with you but that would not be honourable for a gentleman like myself. And at your insistence and to prove I am not a coward I accept your challenge."

*withdraws Lognsword*

"Even though you are more skilled then I am I expect no quarter from you and you can expect none from me. Defend yourself Cur. I will show you why the people of the British Empire are people to fear. Have at you monsieur."

Sorry, I just couldn't resist. XD Thats what my OC would probably say. Anyways, I have to say that the colouring is really top notch. Vibrant and bright. You really bring Dogtanian to life and you've captured his expression really well. A VERY accurate drawing of him as well. Looks like a screencap well done.

BTW, Bess is referance to Brown Bess, the slang given to British Muskets of the time.

Dogtanian~
I'm a number one fan of Richelieu. It's a pity you don't see FanArt of him too much.
But about this picture - you've really managed to bring Dogtanian to life! : D
Love how you've done that sword. It's my fave spot in this.^^

I request that you draw me some Rochefort, monsieur

Whose your favourite character? Whitimiere gets my vote for period cross-dressing in 16th century France.

"You cur, you give ME a nickname? You are talking to a Ro-"

Heh heh. I was planning on doing some pictures of Richelieu and Rochefort, most likely the latter, as he's definately worth drawing. Watch this space!

Widimer is probably my favourite character too, for the bungling antics, excellent voice and his little drinking session after being dismessed by the Cardinal in one episode. I'm so glad I was able to get this series on DVD.

Poor Whitimiere, even those torrid rocks serve to ruin his midnight binging antics ^^

I was quite disappointed with the DVDs, prolly since i've been a Dogtanian fan since whenever i can remember. I was probably expecting some extra dandy features, such as Donny Osmond strumming acoustic guitar whilst singing along to an entire episode.

Oh well. Finally got to see some of the lost episodes from my mum's ITV recordings

my b/f is a fan of this, he starts whining if i watch the DVD over at his place and keep asking questions or giggle at how surreal bits of it are. ^.^;

but dogtanian is still pretty cool. i doubt they'd play it on tv these days becuase it shows a young person getting beaten onconsious in almost ever episode. *mumble*

a very accurate picture, more! ^^
