Description Made a chart to show the 9 species of the Moa, a group of giant birds that were the megaherbivores of New Zealand until only a few hundred years ago (all heights are measured at the hip)

Upland moa (Megalapteryx didinus) 95cm tall, 80 kg in weight and from the Alpine regions of South Island ( silhouette based on Paul Martinson  twitter.com/PaulMartinson17) 

Mantell's moa, (Pachyornis geranoides) 75cm tall, 36kg in weight, found in many habitats across the North Island  ( silhouette based on Paul Martinson  twitter.com/PaulMartinson17) 

Crested moa (Pachyornis australis) 105cm tall, 90kg in weight, found in subalpine shrublands, grasslands, and coastal dunelands of the South Island ( silhouette based on Paul Martinson  twitter.com/PaulMartinson17)

Heavy-footed moa (Pachyornis elephantopus) 120cm tall, 163 kg in weight found in the eastern lowlands of the South Island ( silhouette based on Aaron Woodruff  twitter.com/CenozoicKing)

Little Bush moa,(Anomalopteryx didiformis) 75cm tall, 30 kg in weight,found in closed-canopy lowland forest all over New Zealand ( silhouette based on Paul Martinson  twitter.com/PaulMartinson17)

North Island giant moa(Dinornis novaezealandiae) 200cm tall, 242 kg in weight,  found in many habitats across the North Island ( silhouette based on Colin Edgerley and New Zealand Geographic.)
