Too bad that RoboCain moved like a friggin Ray Harryhausen puppet.
You DON'T want your 1990 movie to have the effects of a 1960 film...

ED-2O9 had a better animation than RoboCain.
That's at least my opinion though, feel free to disagree

The modeling & animation look awesome!

But, if it were actually made - it would certainly require some additional mechanics around the waist and torso area, since it seems to only have stabilizer shocks for support.

Well. its based on the movie Robocop 2 and there have been toys made out of it.

I kind of figured that, it just surprises me that the studio prop and cgi guys didn't make a more sound design - as most newer big budget sci-fi productions usually use pretty believable content, in dealing with working models anyway.

I didn't realize the toy was such high quality though, I mean it actually looks like precision machined metal parts - so thanks for that!

BTW, did you happen to do the LCD screen with his face on it? And the animations for it too?
That would be even more awesome than your model already is!

Well Robocop 2 was made 23 years ago... back then it was pretty much it when it comes to robotic designs.

And Yes. Made everything, including the screen and the drug feeding mechanism.Β

That's cool!

So you could actually make a short film with RoboCop & Cain battling it out!
With a green screen background full of burning cop cars and destruction!
Awesome!

i could, but probably won't.... you need a lot of free time for stuff like this and I don't have much of it...

Well, it never hurts to think what could be done with it - what with canned animations and motion backgrounds, and render engines these days doing a lot more than they used to!

One never knows what creativity brings!

Pretty interesting 3D model you've done here. That looking around animation kinda makes me wonder how Cain can see something anyway? His brain is inside that machine and theres notting like periscope for him. Yeah, he has a screen but he used it only 2 times in the movie.

zoomzoom In reply to Sledge3 [2012-05-02 07:47:05 +0000 UTC]

i made a screen! as well as that drug getting claw mechanism inside his body(there are renders of it in the gallery)I am sure he be alright with a dozen of penny size cameras looking in all directions and he will be set for life!!!

This is absolutely astounding! You might think I'm exaggerating when I say "this is the most technically detailed and physically functional mech render I've ever seen," but I absolutely am not. So... this is the most technically detailed and physically functional mech render I've ever seen!!!

Astounding work - I know it won't sound like much coming from me at this point, but when my story is made into a film, you will be at the top of my list for mechanical animators to build the Romek Legions from the ground up. That will certainly be a long time from now, so if you're not modeling anymore by then... well... I shall grieve the loss immensely.

I remain in awe of your incredible abilities, comrade!!

haha. Thanks m8. There is a link in the description to the gallery where the rest of these technical models are. Most are animated. Hope you dig.

I've checked them out as well - so far this one seems the most complete, but I really appreciate the amount of detail and realism put into all the other pieces as well. Would be awesome to see a complete, total-possibilities sequence on YT in the future!

zoomzoom In reply to Dandabug [2012-01-16 05:48:51 +0000 UTC]

all renders of Cain(this character) are the same. I modeled it and then it was rigged. ones its rigged I can animate and render it, but adding to it, after rigging is very hard. so all of them are the same model with the same details, just different style renders.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

LordTombot [2011-10-23 18:36:58 +0000 UTC]

Why is rigging always so hard? Great job by the way I always thought this particular robot design was well done.
