Description Finally found time to finish this simple animation. Its been a while since I have done any at home and I need to... i really do. Its vector style render so the file came out a little big. so give it sometime to load. I don't like putting loaders in as I don't want people to wait. so first time is slower then normal.

Ones again as before.

Modeling, animation, rendering is by me.
Rigging is be Stev Kalinowski at [link] one of top riggers I know.

other works like it:

Looks great also! My only constructive criticism on this one is to watch for overlapping geometry in the ankle/lower leg area. Other than that Fantabulous job! ?

It's funny, I used to date a girl who went out with an E.D. 209 before me, and that guy would always cause problems whenever we saw him in public. Excellent work.

That is just amazing! Although my comp is very slow for
animations like this. XD But this is really good, kinda
looks like you did this in AutoCAD. 2d texture on 3d model.
Or, maybe it is 3d but with a 2d render. LOL
Good job!

zoomzoom In reply to belken117 [2009-09-11 19:42:19 +0000 UTC]

did it in maya. vector style render with some post-production in flash.

if you let it play ones, it load and play next time without slowdowns.

Ah yes, maya. really good 3d software.

Oh yeah, that works every time. Very smooth animation
of the robot.

wires = wireframe = in maya just go to shading --> wireframe on shaded.

Please excuse my ignorance, what exactly is "rigging" when you are talking about 3D art/animation?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

zoomzoom In reply to StudioCreations [2009-09-09 15:16:19 +0000 UTC]

Models are constructed out of geometrical vertices, faces, and edges in a 3D coordinate system. Objects are sculpted much like real clay or plaster, working from general forms to specific details with various sculpting tools. A bone/joint system is set up to deform the 3D mesh(model). In a process called "rigging", the virtual marionette is given various controllers and handles for controlling movement. Its meant to assist the animator making his job possible, faster, easier and proper. Animation data can be created using motion capture(MOCAP), or keyframing by a human animator(myself), or a combination of the two.
