Description This one is long.... one of the longest I ever made...

but here is a NEW VERSION IN FILM [link]

Sam is a small Robot with a gun and electric swords and Demand is a huge Monster with at least 6 arms... hehe...

This is a 3D animation done in Maya.

p.s. here is a website of a guy who created monster I call Demand [link] i animated it for his demo reel and he let me keep the model for future animations of my own...

I like it but i think the extra 4 big arms don't really add anything to it. It would be just as good without them as I notice they don't really move much

Its really nice. The movements are quite fluid. There are some things I would fix, but then again, every animation can be improved. Looks awesome!

Well, I watched it a few times and I can see that, for example, towards the end of the animation, when the soldier uses both blades to pierce the monster's head (?) I think some more dramatism could be added to the anticipation. As it is, the soldier doesn't seem to be lean back enough for that final thrust.

I can also see that the limbs of the monster seem a little stiff and are lacking some follow-through (dunno it it's because of the model itself or what). A little more of it adds a lot of realism to the movements. Even if it's a robot, a bit of additional FT helps big time.

Maybe add some dramatism to some of the actions. Sort of to give the soldier some extra heroism, make him look like his is really sure and capable of kicking that overgrown beast's mechanical butt.

I like the part where the soldier climbs the monsters arm, the little jumps they do (although the little last jump the soldier does upon dropping the gun could have a little extra hang time) and the little bounce the monster does upon falling.

I really hope you don't take this too roughly. I'm sure if you fix a couple of this things the animation will reflect an improvement

I was watching this amazing piece, and was startled by the lady-like, "Oh My God!!!" squeal! I jumped up, threw on my cape, flew around the house, and had to stop short when I realized that the squeal..came from me!...d'oh. GREAT work!

yea... well. when film was launching they came to me and asked me what video i would like to show first in the film category and i figure i would re-render this one and while i was at it, i did some texturing as well.

to render... ?.. not sure. i don't remember.. I generally don't let a single frame render longer then 2 minutes so this was no more then 4-5 hours...

rigging was done a long time ago by a guy in one of my classes...

while animation took me about 14-16 hours i want to say...
