Description
Major Landmasses and Waterways: Kygor has seven major continents: Serenity, Cerebus, Windwhip, Lacertus, Nomansland, Cetus, and Fluvius; and one major ocean: Thalasseus. There are numerous seas and subcontinents, the exact margins of which are the matter of much debate.Peak Summer and Peak Winter: The excessively long seasons have a very noticeable impact on the planets appearance. These maps represent the minimum and maximum amounts of ice buildup, respectively. By the peak of summer, nearly all sea ice on the planet has melted and only the highest mountains retain some snow. The excess water causes the Bog Sea to swell significantly, inundating low lying islands. With the lack of snowfall most rivers shrink considerably, which in turn causes deserts to expand. At the peak of winter, sea ice covers the polar seas, glaciers grow from the fjords, and most mountains receive snowfall. The southern icepack is bifurcated by a massive freshwater river known as the Great Flume, the result of melting caused my a large undersea volcano. The reduced sea level causes the Bog Sea to shrink, while the increased snowmelt enlarges rivers and causes deserts to shrink.
Tectonic Activity: Solid lines are tentative plate boundaries. Black arrows show plate movement. Red arrows show regions of major convergence. Dashed lines are rift zones (pull-apart basins). Blue triangles are regions of major volcanic activity.

I have several maps of Rana that are still in progress. They look pretty freaking good for something done in Paint.NET!!

Thanks! It probably took me about 5 hours total. I started with just some rough outlines of continents, then zoomed in on the coastlines and add details at random. I had a rough idea of the habitats I wanted and then placed mountains and such accordingly.

now THAT'S what I'm talking about. A map with some actual thought and logic to back it, I'm so sick of fantasy mapmakers sticking deserts all willy-nilly between a jungle and a tundra like they're generating Minecraft biomes. Excellent work, my friend!
