Description
"Who's the most brazen, bold and brilliant bucanner who ever sailed the briny blue?"This is sort of a um...time line...(I guess) of Hook's aging process in my upcoming story Journey to Neverland. I liked his design in The Pirate Fairy, so I wanted to try and add on to the gradual becoming of the codfish we all know and love. I hope it all ties together nicely. The last thing I'd want to do is get all convoluted and such. Not much to say about this one except that I had a lot of fun with this.

Captain 'Blackstache' ? That's from "Peter Pan and the Starcatchers", isn't it ? But then it doesn't make sense, because Tinker Bell is given completely conflicting backstories in 'Starcatchers' and the Disney Fairies series, so the two can't be canon to each other…

Don't you worry. Black Stache is merely a fleeting moniker that James will quickly dispute. I've been incredibly picky about what canon to keep and what goes. Since Starcatchers is considered non-canon to the animated films, I have no intention on making it so. (But that doesn't mean I won't throw in a few fun little nods here and there.)

Oh, right. Although I didn't know about 'Starcatchers' not being canon to the animated films; my feeling was that both 'Starcatchers' and 'Disney Fairies' were in canon with the animated films, but not to each other (presenting two different, but equally canonical -- or not so -- continuities), whereas the two Peter Pan movies were the only canon source.

James will try to experiment with his look, (specifically through his facial hair) as he makes the transition into a fearsome captain.

I just discovered this pic and Journey To Neverland one, and I must say that I love it so much! And as for Hook's moustache, I thought it had to do something with Tick-Tock due to the ticking sound, causing his moustache to spread, and that's somehow why it's so pointy and why his mustache twitchs in rhythm similar to a clock's hands.
