The EXPO - Phuong had heard Simon's recaps of the event last year... more than once, in fact. The guy always spoke in superlatives: nothing was ever just 'nice' or 'decent', nor was something ever just 'somewhat bad'. It was all or naught for this guy - and luckily he had laid out the details of last year's EXPO in extravagantly positive terms.
Thus, it was a pleasant surprise for Phuong to discover that Simon's positive appraising of the event had not, in fact, been on account of him just being satisfied about winning his class last year and being approached for selfies - no, this event certainly was every bit as special as rumour has it.
The Zlesdin delegation this year featured a larger crew - not only was Andy, Simon and herself present; Kaira returned again this year. Gideon was there too, not as a breed ambassador, but to host a clinic of his own. And last but not least the Mizerov Estate had contributed none other than Seiger and Igni as official breed ambassadors. The pair were veritable legends in Zlesdin circles - so it was also with a certain anxious undertone that Phuong agreed to participate in the breed demonstration alongside not only those two, but set to the vocal backdrop of Kaira. The practice for this had, in itself, been quite the experience. The performance at this place, in front of an actual audience had been something else - magical, just about. Talk about a grand return to the show stage.
Their performance had merited quite the response from EXPO guests as well. The Zlesdin booth attracted both established Zlesdin enthusiasts as well as curious newcomers. It helped settle Phuong's nerves somewhat. She and Hilas would make a return to the competition ring at this venue after having been out of the game since the HCL Final. A well-deserved break for the trusty red mare had turned into a lengthy history of injuries and unfortunate mishaps - now they had their eyes set on hopefully making it to the Olympics later this season... that is, if Hilas proved up for the task. And Phuong herself, for that matter. Their performance here would have a say in that.

I haven't actually drawn them competing since the HCL finals in..... 2018. Truth be told I pretty much lost motivation to compete for a longgggg time.
Motivation is still......hmm. Not what it used to be. Eclipse and its activity drop (rather, plunggggeee) doesn't exacttttly help with motivation either :L
....But! this is the first time in forEVER I finished a jumping entry... and something I spent a helluvalongtime on, at that. I can appreciate that if naught else :'>
And I just really like the EXPO event.
