Paint.net is great, but gimp and photoshop can do so many more things it's ridiculous.

No one knows paint net has over 1000 plugins which i all have! <3 Lolololo and its free. But again, Adobe CS5 is great for other stuff as well :3 paint.net cant make .gifs, cant align, doesnt have a clone stamp etc. it depends on the things you need to do with it i guess

FicticiousAnimation In reply to Mod-a-holic [2012-06-26 22:44:28 +0000 UTC]

You can even get paintbrushes with the custom Paint brush plugin.

I suppose Gimp and Paint.Net are in the same league, but in my opinion Gimp is the superior. THat's just an opinion though. Don't take it too personally.

So this doesn't work with Photoshop Elements?

👍: 0 ⏩: 3

zummerfish In reply to LunarWolf26 [2012-06-26 14:42:35 +0000 UTC]

Well, most probably no, at least not by my description and snapshots. You may have equivalents for filters and adjustment layers but they may have different options and names. You can always try though, and improvise.

In photoshop elements we have a shorter root. It's harder to get the affect because its shorter but its not as step killing.

Serious Question: Photoshop isn't the same as Photoshop Elements? Somone plz explain for I don't fully comprehend! Thanks!

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

zummerfish In reply to azureEmber [2012-06-26 14:48:15 +0000 UTC]

Yes it isn't . Photoshop Elements is, like name suggests, a program with only basic Photoshop functions, highly simplified and with different user interface and doesn't provide support for 3D and video layers and so on.

I believe you can download a trial version of Photoshop at adobe.com and see the difference for yourself.

Here you go: [link]
But you know, google is your friend; just enter "difference between photoshop and photoshop elements" and a bunch of comparisons appear, listing the differences.

azureEmber In reply to ChainsOfFreedom [2012-06-24 08:43:25 +0000 UTC]

Great thanks!!
And although Google is my friend, it is full of misinformation and also there's nothing wrong with wanting a straight answer from a person and getting a little human interaction, no matter how minute!

No prob, but sometimes I just get annoyed when people ask things they are able to find out by themsleves. Really sorry.

No, you can download trial version at adobe.com. Or you can try downloading GIMP since it has similar functions ))
