Description

A script to help quickly choose crackle options

Crackle plugin for Apophysis [link]

Original script devised by iDeviant. With his permission I have simply modified his original script by adding to its' range of 5 options.

Several others dA members have contributed styles to this where I have harvested, with their permission, the params from their posted flames. These include skellorg, nightmares06 and slobo777 himself.

Here's an all-crackle fractal I made using just this script on each xForm

Just highlight the crackle variation on the xForm you want to choose, run the script & pick number of a type of crackle pattern. You cn further modify it by then going to Variables & changing the params.

It's just giving you points to work from.

When you get something you like you can then modify the script fr yourself by adding another pattern type of yr own naming by entering its' Variables - it's easy when you look at the script & just see what needs to be added in 3 places. Then save it as Crackle27.asc or whatever number of patterns it now has

This looks great. Thank you very much. If I try to use Crackle my apo becomes terribly slow but I will try to muster some patience to try your script

I just go & do a small chore while it's having a burp - good for the circulation & gives me time to think a bit too. Another way to speed it up is to offload any plugins you aren't using into the Unused Plugins folder before you load Apo, but of course how does one know sometimes which ones about to be used.
I did a big cleanup & defrag of my machine last week & that really helped.

They say patience is a virtue. It's not one I can boast of

It comes with the badges of wrinkles & white hair.

baba49 In reply to zweeZwyy [2009-09-15 22:52:35 +0000 UTC]

I don't think so! Usually it's the person with lot's of wrinkles and white hair or none at all that are the most impatient in a queue

zweeZwyy In reply to baba49 [2009-09-15 23:50:51 +0000 UTC]

I can dig that - arthritic leg pains tends to make them irritable - a good reason to avoid queues if poss.
But you know the saying about tortoises & hares - in many other things old & wise beats young & foolish & patience can be a major factor - of course one must have retained a few marbles to qualify in those stakes .....and learned to avoid queues. I know that's a hard one in nth hemisphere, downunder here we don't have the problem so much.

It could be that it's pain but my guess is that they feel how the time is running out on them the older the faster and that's what makes them impatient

I'm back in love with crackle again. thanks a whole lot. I've noticed that it works best when the final xform's crackle=1 and all else in that xform = 0.

I really like that you can reset the crackle to default. That way if I can't make up my mind which one I want to use I could always go back to the original.

I have noticed crackle doesn't like company, tends to blur out, altho I have opened random flame sets & found the settings with crackle & another on same T's, but usually very defined to 6th dec place or so - hard to plot that in a build from blank flame.

BD's_CrackleJuliaN scripts useful too. Run one of those scripts then this Crackle Cracker, then hit F9 & choose again & again for endless fun

Noice! I'm particularly enamoured with #s 14, 15, 19 and 20. Oddly enough, I recently named a splits tile with the working title "Mechano", in honour of it reminding me of Meccano [link]

Oh, right, now I remember, probably prompted me, lurking in the subliminals waiting...waiting... fr that glorious moment when it could fly again.
Mind-chimes.

Trust you to like that lot! English weather?
Personally I'm taken with the blob, one of yours.
No doubt that speaks its' tiny volumes too.
