Just going to plop and drop this here cause jeez, I am tired. I'll deal with messages hopefully tomorrow. We'll see...oh, do I have I weekend in store for me.

I've never tried gouache nor acrylic painting... I thought it was the same x'D what's the difference between them?
I'm very impressed, that last cat doesn't look like watercolours! .w. I love all of these, seriously. I should totally buy a good sketchbook and start filling it in!

Gouache is a water-based painting material, very similar in how it acts to watercolor, but much more opaque and doesn't quite have that same "watercolor effects" like watercolor. But it does "revive" if you put water on already dry gouache, like watercolor, and it works really well for flat coloring due to it's opaqueness. If you look up gouache, you probably will see a bunch of flat paintings. ^^ The only issue is that it can be frustrating to use it the first couple of times. ;W;
Acrylic is, uhhhh... not quite sure exactly what it's made out of, but it's a fast drying paint you use with water and drys water-resistant. It might be similar to using oil...just not as smooth and much, much, MUCH less materials are required to use it properly. It's fun to use, my only issue with it is that it can crack if spread thinly and my palette of paints dry too freaking quickly. XD
Ayy, thank you! 8D It's really weird, the watercolor sets I have (the cat was made with Windsor & Newton Cotman paints) work much more opaquely than I'd expect them too. To the point where I question if these are gouache or not, haha! XD It's probably because I'm used to the cheap watercolors that barely cover anything. ^^
If you get a sketchbook, definitely get either a watercolor or a mixed media. ^^ Mixed medias are great, they tend to work with any medium you throw at them (except heavy markers like Copics...that doesn't work so well ). They're like a middle ground between the mediums...not specifically specialized for anything, and don't work great with many watercolor washes, but will accept most things decently.
But yeah, best of luck with the sketch book!

The funny thing is that I don't draw abs that often. Like, hardcore abs. Actually, I don't think I've ever drawn hardcore abs! XD But I draw a lot of pecs, helps make the chest make more sense. ^^ (unless I'm just getting my anatomy terms wrong... ;A; )
