Thank you all so much for the comments, I will try to drop a note to all of you. Some people are still wondering about the camera specs. A digital camera was used to photograph the drawing, my scanner is to small, and I canβt stuff it into my computer manually.
Although I have received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback, I have received a few comments from people that think I am not truthful about my technique, that for some strange reason, itβs not a drawing or its digitally manipulated; I guess I could take that as a complement in a strange way. My computer knowledge compared to most of you is very small, I wouldnβt even know how to manipulate these images digitally nor would I be inclined to.
My reason for being on DA is not for the ego shit, itβs to turn people on to the fundaments of art, and the foundations, at the same time to understand the whole new world of digital art for myself. I really appreciate all your comments, I applaud every one of you that take the time to look and examine not only my work but all the artists works, and thatβs what DA is about. But I assure you itβs all drawn; I donβt have the time or inclination to play games. THANK YOU Armin

Ok, having had my entire art class stare at this for a while...is the top half a photo and the bottom half a drawing? His neck and sweater? Because we pulled this into photoshop and blew it up, and the face is definitely not a pencil drawing. The shading on the face isn't right for a pencil drawing at all, and the shine under his eye isn't the way it would look in pencil here. Forgive me if I am wronging you here, but...shutter speed? If this is half photograph, for heaven's sake say so!!
Anyway, very nice work, just as a lovely photograph.

This just fuckin blows me away. This is SO inspiring, I mean, I never knew it was even possible to obtain such realism with just pencil. It's amazing. I'm still having trouble believing it's not a real photo! I can't even imagine how long this would take, I don't think I have the patience yet to spend the time that is needed to get this level of detail. You should be so very proud of this.

That is so cool. It looks so real. Say, have you heard of an artist called Chuck Close? He did some similar stuff as well.
