I'm sorry ...I'd have to see some other images showing some steps in the drawing.....this looks too much like a photo with slight manipulations. plus the imbedded camera info....but for now...I'll tell you... nice photo.

That is simply incredible ^_^ I wish i could put into words how i feel about it, but I do know this, you create such a powerful image with the simplest of tools, in a day and age where computer art is such a fad. Bravo ^_^ Pictures like these are the ones that remind me why i enjoy drawing.

...Absolutely amazing! I examined it for so long... you've even got the little pores on his cheek, the shininess around the wrinkles of his eyes... and do I even see a nosehair? You must have put so much heart into the creation of this... it looks so lifelike, so full of personality. Pencil drawing is my favorite, and I have to say I admire anybody with even half this much mastery of the medium. Truly stunning, I can't say it enough.

This is AMAZING. O__O

I really really can't believe this is done in pencil. I would have bet anyone a lot of money that this was a photograph. You've got everything down perfectly, every feature on the face, neck, texture of clothes and skin, every shadow and highlight, and even the reflections on his glasses, it's all so realistic! This really, really, really does look like a photo of someone taken from a camera!

I have never seen more professional traditional artwork than yours. I love it. It's simply fascinating. Two thumbs up, please continue to draw!

WOW. That is SO detailed.. It looks just like a photograph to me. But.. What I'm asking is.. Did you use a paint program of some sort? I mean.. because - How did you get such BLACK areas?? On the sides? Well, just asking. You don't have to answer...

But still, GREAT JOB! Must've taken you hours on that.

SilentMYSTIQUE In reply to prognar [2003-10-17 02:15:08 +0000 UTC]

Excuse me, but if you did a drawing on paper, and wanted to post it on the computer, wouldn't you have to take a photograph of the drawing? And don't tell me they could have scanned it... 1. They might not have a scanner and 2. If you have a pencil drawing you would NOT place it on a flatbed scanner because it would get ruined by smudging etc.
I don't even know why I'm replying to what you've said, such ignorance just baffles me sometimes. Jealous perhaps?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

prognar In reply to SilentMYSTIQUE [2003-10-17 04:47:21 +0000 UTC]

it's quite easy to tell that that is not a photo of a piece of paper. If you knew anything baout photography then you'd understand that to get such a light to illuminate a piece of paper, you'd wash out the picture. Unless he has 10,000 watts of diffused light shining on it and somehow managed to not get any bit of shadow on the picture, then this option is clearly dismissed. He'd have to shoot it at an angle to get rid of camera shadow. Clearly it is not. Lead also reflects light, and there is none of that. It's obvious that he did not scan it unless he touched it up a lot in photoshop and added the camera details in his descript ion for some reason. DA should really check on these things before hailing these sorts of phoneys as god-like pieces.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SilentMYSTIQUE In reply to prognar [2003-10-17 13:31:27 +0000 UTC]

And I suppose you can't fix the lighting in photoshop after you've taken a photograph of it? Suppose he knew enough about photography to take the shot at the right angle, with the right conditions? I don't claim to know enough about these things to argue with you about it, when obviously I can't say 100% what the situation is. So I'll just leave off there. Nice chatting with you though

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

prognar In reply to SilentMYSTIQUE [2003-10-17 15:34:21 +0000 UTC]

Not very plausible. Let's see you take a photo of a drawing that comes out like that. Unless he's using some kind of magic lead that never smears, doesn't shine, and adds film grain, then it's not a drawing. Let's see him take a picture of his sketchpad with the drawing. Notice how he posts it and doesn't ever defent himself on any of the negative comments.
