No problemo, that's one of the reasons why I'm in love with art (in all its forms) because it's way to know better oneself.

Hi,
very impressive! Reminds me of an old german soldier who met a russian veteran. After long discussion they arrived at the conclusion that war knows losers only.
Cheers,
Stevie

In a way your correct Stevie, only my dad is the old German soldier he fought in the war and was captured by the Americans. My folks, my relatives all went through it and I heard many horror stories first hand. I don’t for an instant think I know what its like to go through this though and I hope I never have to nor my children. As and artist I can bleed this stuff into my work where it should be.
Thanks
PS love your white Christmas work

Hi Armin,
I hope we'll never be in such a situation! As John Lennon sang:
You may say I am a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one...
Cheers,
Stevie

This is breathtaking! the quality is beyond photorealism and the positioning of the eys is very interesting!
I'm really glad you wrote the thoughts behind your picture down as it reallyhalps explain it's features!
The cut of roots are very fascinating to me as it seems almost to indicate a good start cut off... as you say lives of many people cut off, but maybe also a forest cut down- a race or "people"destroyed! very strong symbolism!
Very well done!

i love the way the roots are just ''cut off'', suggests how people lifes are ended almost too suddenly because of who they are or what they believe in.

amazing, fantastic drawing! you rock!
P.S. the roots look kinda nasty! but of course, that as nothing to do with the fact that they're amazingly drawn!

Mitch, The concept was from my imagination most of the roots where also except I had some images of the holocaust, the eyes are mine and the crow I nabbed from a pictures share forum as well is the skull. I guess it’s a mixture of the two.

I must say this piece is breathtakingly gorgeous, and with such a subtle yet at the same time powerful message. Even though the holocaust and any forms of genocide are terrible, I must say I love the symbolism with the trees/roots being cut at a generally uniform level. I'm at awe with the almost life-like gazes of the two eyes and the skulls and the crow just tie the image into a skillful masterpiece.
Thank you so much for sharing this piece and all the rest of your insightful and gorgeous art.

how incredible.
and how refreshing as i've never seen birds or skulls created by you before..
i particularly like the way the eyes on either side poitn up towards the bird in the center of the image, it helps to tie everythnig in together instead of it being a selection of different images.
just wow, if i could become half as good as you in my life time, i think i would be fully satisfied.
thank you for letting me see it !

Now this may sound quite strange but these are probably the skulls of Cambodians and the crashed one on the bottom has "2K 3205" written on it. (got a couple of those pictures)
I like the drawing, especially the roots. As for the left eye, it's owner would be looking towards his left, which, in fact, suggests recollection. The image feels cold and stoical in a rather disturbing way.

Well, the holocaust is certainly not over, it's not only history, it's very present and even more than that. It's the future.
And please, don't be subtle, people are stupid, they don't understand your critique unless you smash their faces with it.

Janona,
I’m not a politician, nor a propagandist,
I’m an artist. And in that role I try to seduce the viewer with well thought out though usually private symbols, a good composition and a unique drawing style. All my work has in inherent political/social bias yet I feel a sense confidentially, this gets me interested in creating art in the first place. That this works a subtle and can be read in more than one dogmatic rant is paramount, the art is still more important than the message.
I must respectfully disagree I don’t think people are stupid but have their own agenda, what’s happening to others might not be high on their list, ultimately this could be worse than just being stupid for a stupid person can be educated but apathy is and unyielding brick wall.
Thanks you so much for your comment
