Description I soured on doing requests ages ago, but is very rare type of requester in that he actually requested an idea I found interesting. He wanted to have Antoine and one of my original characters, Juniper the coyote "interacting or perhaps doing something even more..." I think this fits the bill. It's not quite done, but I just wanted to share what I had so far.

I know more than likely the hardcore BunnieXAntoine shippers won't like this. Trust me when I say you're going to be seeing plenty more of Antoine with other love interests in my gallery, because I see absolutely nothing wrong with having several ships for one character plus I honestly don't even like Buntoine at this point

Yes, I see the flaws. However, I wanted to go outside my comfort zone and try doing more challenging poses and work on backgrounds, and I think I did that.

Very good work! It's nice to see Antoine being shipped with someone other than Bunnie (though I personally don't mind Buntoine that much when done right), as it ties into what I always say about
fan art, stories, and comics or what have you: "It's called FAN art, and that means you can do what you want!" and it's nice to see something more experimental done with our boy.

Talking about experimental, I can see you have pushed yourself beyond your comfort zone with the setting and poses of the characters, and it pays off very well! Perhaps the only thing I'd say is that
the lamp seem a little crooked compared to the perspective on the other objects in the room, but that's really nitpicking.

And ohmygod, I can't believe the people you have to deal with!!! Either they beg for free art or for satisfying their fetishes! But anyway, I think CommissarZach said it best. And congrats on being as civil as possible with them!

When it’s handled competently, I don't mind Buntoine either. People pair Bunnie off with everybody from Tails to Sally all the time, but if you dare ship Antoine with someone else then he must be cheating on Bunnie? Hmm... This fandom (as well as some others I can name) could really take some notes from the Simpsons and My Little Pony fandoms. Both fandoms have so much in the way of amazing creativity and people willing to experiment with everything, including ships. I’m not saying everything they churn out is good, but at least those fans aren’t drawing and writing the same things over and over again and expecting others to follow suit.

I wouldn’t call that nitpicking. Now I can point you to super-nitpicky comments I’ve gotten from other people here before. No, your criticism is fair. Perspective and backgrounds are not one of my strengths, and I need to work on them more.

Sad to say, this kind of behavior is what I’ve come to expect from dA. I think they saw that I did this one request and thought I would do theirs too?... I don’t know. But thanks! I try to be civil with strangers or those who don’t know any better.

Oh man, right? I am so confused by all these people who clearly didn't fully read the description, but apparently just latched onto the word request. The hamburger buns thing still makes me go "Wat."

Thank you, kind sir!

I think what you've got in the works so far is fantastic! I can see how you pushed yourself to try something new with the poses and background, and the results speak for themselves. I especially love the details like the lone cactus in the corner, the framed pictures on the wall, and the glass of water on the bedside table - all nice things to make the scene feel like a scene.Β

The perspective is nice too. I admit there are some objects in the piece that look a little wonky because of perspective, but I feel that's more due to it being a general pain to deal with in art. It's not easy to tackle and draw, but I think here, you managed to take it and apply it well here!

Antoine and Jupiter themselves....oh goodness, this is quite an intimate moment for them. But they turned out great! I remember you saying something once about what female coyotes in the Sonic universe should look like, and you did a wonderful job making Jupiter look like herself and not a dubbed female version of Tony here - giving her a different hairstyle, making her muzzle slightly slimmer, things like that.

So yeah, well done here! I bet SwedishEmperorThe1 is going to love it!

Thank you for the kind words! I had to sit and figure out what a bedroom inhabited by these two would look like. I probably could've stood to have planned that out some more, but no telling how long that would've taken me.

I totally agree. Like I was telling Tommaso, it certainly wouldn't hurt me to work more on backgrounds and perspective.

Yeah, I wanted Antone to look like he's actually annoying the moment instead of looking tense or awkward like he tends to in a lot of shippy pictures. And lady coyotes basically being drawn as Antoine but with long eyelashes is a very real thing I've seen pple do before. But even many of the canon designs are just copies of other characters; I.E. Alicia's just a longhaired Sally. Juniper also has more realistic coyote coloration and markings.

I did notice that in many Antoine shipping pieces, yes. He does look very nervous in many of them, which I find confusing. But I like the idea of having him enjoy the moment too; he deserves some happiness in romantic moments, like this piece shows with him and Juniper. I also noticed the markings on her too; she looks like a unique individual, and a very awesome one too!

Aw, as always, anytime!

Because Antoine is an uptight wiener who can never relax, even in intimate moments with a romantic partner (where you'd think being scared would be the furthest thing from his mind). [/sarcasm]

And thanks! Juniper might pop up in some more stories later on down the road. We'll see!

I would strongly urge you to save up your cash then for one. That's what I do, and I've gotten a couple of great commissions done before:

Drawing a picture, let alone free art for other people, is time-consuming (it can take me a month or even longer to do one picture). Plus it takes away attention from an artist's personal projects, so I think paying them for their services is a fair trade.
