I tried to figure out how large the tripod was in Jeff Wayne's WOTW.. and using shot of it with the Thunderchild, I estimate it to be 300ft tall at the top of the knee. Which makes it massive. The small black dot on the ground is a 6ft man to scale.Related content

sorry, but it's been confirmed by Jeff Wayne that the tripod is 100ft. but still, great picture.

Looks pretty good, i've got a copy of the old pc game (I actually have two, but had to get a second because the human disc cracked), haven't tried to install it on windows 10 yet, might try it in a virtual linux installation.
The FM is to scale, but the Manta (the 1950s machine) doesn't seem to scale. From official blueprints a friend found for me, the Manta's stats are as follows:

I'm fairly certain I used these dimensions when I made this. And it looks like your numbers are the same.. but 50ft is really small when it compared to 300ft tall monster. It's all in the perspective. Look at how short the body of it really is with the Martian inside it.

That (and one similar) is pretty much the same schematic sheet i used to make the reference images for the manta model i started work on couple of years back, but i'll have to redo it, as the drive that I had all my 3d work on died, and at the time, I had no redundancy drives or dropbox for extra backup (now I do). Yeah, I never realized the Mantas were so small compared to the FMs, probably why they needed the shields
I'm currently making my own FM in modo (gonna do several machines, plus a few custom ideas i thought of), and put 'em all in UE4, when they're eventually done.
