If you have tried to make the Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10 start menu like from Windows XP, by using classic shell, you might have noticed that the font in the menu is incorrect. For some reason the font in the classic shell start menu uses the default font "Segoe UI", even if you changed the system font.

That is why I am publishing this skin file for classic shell. It doesn't look exactly like it is in Windows XP, but at least unlike the default Windows XP Luna skin, it has the correct font. As you can see in the screenshot I also changed the icons. If you want to do so, you will have to do it manually, because the skin does not contain the icons and it neither contains the start menu structure.

To use the skin, extract the skin to "C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\Skins", using 7zip ( You can download it from here: www.7-zip.org/ ). To apply the skin, open the classic shell start menu settings, go to the skin tab and from the menu, choose "Windows XP Luna New" and click OK. You should now have the good old Windows XP fonts!

UPDATE!: For all those who have updated from Classic Shell to Open-Shell, make sure that you place the skin in the Open-Shell folder instead of the Classic Shell folder. So when you extract the skin extract it to "C:\Program Files\Open-Shell\Skins"

UPDATE 2: I've modified the skin to remove the red glow around the text. This is something a user pointed out in the comments and I greatly appreciate it . It was a simple fix, and apparently if clear type is off, the glow doesn't even show to begin with, so I didn't notice it. I also for some reason set the glow to red myself, probably for experimentation, then I forgot to set it back. Anyways, all you have to do now is download the skin again, and replace it.
