I saw the WIP of the station itself and that in itself is already awesome. And now you're animating it

Did you do the running lights in AE or C4D? I've been wondering for a while how to make lights switch on and off on a loop in C4D without having to do every keyframe for the whole animation.

Both actually - lights animated in C4D for the lighting and shadow effect then Optical Flares added in PP in AE to the 3D lights generated in C4D through the aec file import. Then overall color correction, film grain, time-stretch, etc.

Ah, thanks for the info. I guess you use AE for the lens flares because you get better control than in C4D?

No problem, wow yes, much easier to control in AE. I use Video Copilot's Optical Flares Plugin to create the flares and track the 3D light information output in the aec file from C4D then group them by light name etc for different effects per group.
