The Lost Child (8.24.17)

A single desert caravan flees on horse back for their life.
Wood wagon wheels furiously wobbling, and shaking furiously allowing the unstrapped artifacts to rustle freely.
The sound of destructive laughter is to follow behind lone pray, chasing with purpose; Gutrope and Pagan.
What reasons to chase after the caravan? To steal a nice prize guarded by one? For information by the hooded rider they persue?
It is left a mystery.
What is for sure is that the wagons items are loose small parsels being free to fall from the wagon with no intention to be recollected.
Two ominous villians leaping over with eyes solely on the hooded kamishiba who appears to be safe so far on their wagon.
What is not - the small egg thought to be carefully wrapped and secured closest front to them. Right behind from where they sit.
Anxiously looking over the hooded kamishiba whips the horses reigns a double time as the death bringers draw near.
This is the starting point of the poor child who would be lost.

With one full whip the horse would push forward understanding the danger, to pick up the final speed it had.
Straps and blanket to the egg become loose and unknowingly with a good bounce becomes free to lift up and flying from the wagon behind.
To Pagan's back it would hit, the soft fur they had breaking the possibility for it to crack open upon them killing the child within.
Miracuously missing Pagan's metal tail whip as it fly behind them to roll on the sandy ground with a batch of lost goods.
Gutrope charges behing Pagan missing to smash into egg by mere inches.

It rolls.

The distance between the caravan and attackers is starting to grow longer.
All until the egg finally stops rolling with its owner a speckle in the distance.

This would be a lost child.

Taming Destruction

Now fate be had it that this egg would not perish in the heat of the sun. With no interest in the lost packages the villians did not return to collect any items or forge for the egg. To them the artifacts and child could be taken in the heat and buried in the sand. A desert sand snake, Salazar, would not let this happen though - finding it a prime moment to collect some free loot to sell. Into the night he would gather the items with this family in a wagon, only to run across the lone egg half buried. Understanding tragity was to happen the trail of wheels in the sand had already vanished, along with any remaining items to collect. What hope of finding this eggs parents or keeper was gone, thus leaving the male to be responcible. To his mate he brought the egg believing they would be the ones to care for the egg and raise a new child. As much as his beloved Nanako approved it became apparent of a different option. A dangerous, but questionable option.

The wild and conceited Traza had been feeling a bit glum, becoming more recluse and heavier in hostility. For outsiders that came in the wake of this monsterous female kamishiba were at odds she was just falling to the purty of her uncontroability. Yet Salazar and Nanako just understood the jealousy Traza felt of not having an equal. No true love to live up to her wild nature, or being to try and tame this devilish nature. Perhap a child could? Perhaps this egg would tap into the enchanted side of Traza that she was loosing and easy the beast to be more civil. Or at least lower her hostilty. Duely decided with this wagon filled of glory to sell in the Thundra market Salazar and his family went home. To sell their wears and bestow causiously an egg upon Traza and pray she did not eat it.

Upon finding her in the market alluring a traveler to distract and steal Salazar slipped in to steal her attention away by saying he had a gift. Curious enough to follow after it was at the wagon she was given the egg. Carefully rolled out before her by Nanako and Navin with surprised eyes. Scoffing at the repulsing idea of her raising a child she went to head butt it away, but before her forehead could meet the warm shell - it cracked. Inches away she stopped mid attack to watch the egg jiggle and shake to finally break at the top in three pieces. Leaving her to look directly in the eyes with a tired eye'd piebald child who sported rare oni teeth! With Salazar and Nanako grinning, could Traza assault the egg now? Discard the child when she was the first one it saw? Frozen in place with the market merchants eyeing the spectacular event the child would wiggle out of it egg to walk up and sit right on Traza's front paw.

No, Traza could not harm the innocent being but felt utter resentment for her 'family' to give her such a terrible gift. Near by at a stall a few wax filled sea shells rustled, and at another some pebbles moved just the same. Slowly they floated to the child and rested at her shoulders, hovering there in declaration of what she was. A lost gravity kamishiba. Unwillingly so Traza adopted the child, given it believed her to be its mother and name the young girl Lorelei. Thus starting the child's story.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

Positive
Being young Lorelei is very impressionable and takes after those she is closet with in pieces she likes. Being with her untamed adoptive mother the girl has learned to be outgoing and brave. She is exceptional at being quiet even in her movement, and luckily takes after Traza's enchanted side more. This allows her to be very approachable and friendly to those she gets to meet forming lasting friendships. Lorelei is smart enough to know the different from right or wrong in her own actions, but is still innocent to understanding good and evil. Given she does not have a father figure the girl has taken a strong liking to a traveling minstrel named Abbadon who has opted to teach her how to sing with Traza's approval.

Negative
As a child Lorelei can have terrible temper tantrums if she does not get her way, even in the presence of Alexstraza. She tends to like to stay out to late- being the child that will leave their bed constantly to see what their parent is up to in the living room. Around other children that attempt to make fun of her coloration Lorelei will lash out much like her mother, leaving a fine bite marking thanks to her oni teeth. Lorelei however does not hold grudges, her attention span is currently to short.

???, hooded kamishiba. Most likely Lorelei's real mother or father that she was separated from when an egg thanks for Pagan and Gutrope. It is unclear as to who this kamishiba is or if she will ever see them again - the chances are slim. They are either lost forever, or Pagan and Gutrope have killed them.
(her true surviving parent is open to be played by a kamishiba member - perhaps one day she can meet this kamishiba? Or not?)

Alexstraza , adopted mother. Lorelei absolutely loves Traza and attempts to follow her where ever she goes despite the fact Traza tells her not too. She understands Traza is not her biological mother by coloration, but does not let this get in her way. She is fiercely loyal to the dragon and takes her words as law above all others. Whether Traza likes it or not Lorelei has some what cooled her unruly conceited behaviors. Fact be known Lorelei can suffer from slight anxiety if she is separated from Traza too long.

Salazar + Nanako , uncle and aunt. She adores these two as they were the ones that found her egg with intent to keep her safe. When she is not with her untamed mother she can be found learning to be a civil kamishiba with their help. Life lessons are learned with these two as if to be teachers in the desert waste lands. Lorelei also enjoys the company of her cousin, Navin , and wishes to be like her. If unsupervised the baby can be found following after Navin attempting to look cool.

Setsuko , beautiful one. He is the eldest son of her aunt and uncle who is remarkable beautiful! His colors and hair makes Lorelei a bit jealous. She is glad he is so friendly since Lorelei adores to climb all around him and check out the nice markings of white and stars! Oddly the girl also likes to nibble on his tail tuff believing it taste like cotton candy.

Navin, favorite relative. If not with Traza, Lorelei can often be found following after Navin in her daily choirs or visits to the market. She loves to listen to Navin's campfire stories at night over the howling desert, or in turn singing one of her many sad songs to her. The pair is quiet close making Navin, Lorelei's favorite cousin - or relative for that matter!

Abbadon , the minstrel. Ignoring the ominous aura he gives off Lorelei has absolutely come to adore this strange kamishiba. Being thrilled to hear his songs and stories in the market place they have formed a small bond since he learned she can sing. Due to this Lorelei is learning how to play small instruments from him and how to tone her voice as she grows. Traza approves this teaching from a stranger only because her mother personally like the way he looks, like a red and black cobra.

Lizzera , the strong. Lorelei thought this girl to be excessively rude the first time they had met but learned quickly it was just her disposition of speech and action. Upon realizing that Lorelei opened her mind a bit more and they became very close friends. She enjoys the girls fearless and independent personalty reminding her much of her mother Traza. Due to this she holds a growing respect for her friend and trusts her - this can cause the pair to get into trouble quite a bit. Luckily they manage to get out of her with the help of Traza, or their own wit. Lorelei is however extremely uncomfortable around Lizzera's father/mother.. the lopediemis.

Gloriana , the cry baby. Lily is the second closest friend of Lorelei since they met in the desert by rare chance. Her father selling rare watermelons in the desolate place with the tiny child hiding behind him. It took a lot to get Lily to come out of hiding, but once she did Lorelei quickly befriended her. They share stories of their homes and parents, event adventuring when able. On rare chance they take turns spending time at each others houses - given it is a LONG distance to travel... they have loving parents that understand building lasting friendships is important.

Avalon , a boy like water. Lorelei enjoys this boys company as they are both kindred spirits of the song! On rare visits they can be found taking turn teaching each other new songs from different lands, or just singing away together. Over all Lorelei thinks this boy is very pretty because he reminds her of the dark ocean water - she hopes to one day secretly snag one of his pearls to keep! Hopefully he won't notice!

Sarka , magic! Lorelei thinks this girl is a bit of magic like her mother how she changes from one kamishiba to the next. Such a mystery to the girl on how another a year younger has such an ability. They are good friends but sadly it is only in Sarka's enchanted form when she is away from her Lop parents. They become hyperactive in their rambunctious play - often causing Lorelei to get a good work out... and a decent nap afterwards!

Tami , mysterious sly one. He does not talk and Lorelei is not exactly sure why, maybe he does not like to listen to his own voice? Either way the lil lost child finds this boy very comforting despite his extremely shy personality. She finds that despite his inability/or/desire to talk, Lorelei herself can talk freely to him and he does not seem to judge (so she thinks). Tami holds some of Lorelei's deepest secrets and is often the guinea pig to her new songs - all of which are utterly sad. His parents are absolutely terrifying so when they come around Lorelei usually bids him adieu and goes to hide -- resulting in them only seeing a glimpse of the fleeing ghost child!
