Water inspired design

I could not find any chess pieces that I liked in every detail, for example I didn't like the cut in the bishop or the shape of some pieces.

So I decided to make a digital chess board in a modern style and focus on functional design features:

- Pieces should be able to be recognized instantly and have a clear, sharp and simple form.
- Useability: A low center of mass for a stable stand and very quick moves.
- Rounded shapes and corners should give a nice handfeeling.

I'm a very bad chess player but here is a quote from Bobby Fischer that I like very much:
"...pieces must be connected and work together..."
