Confused slightly, she did try to reach for it but as if mocking her, was only able to brush her fingertips on it. Then she thought of a very risky move. With her leg still in a raised position, she thought about pushing off of it with all her strength and grab the vine in that split moment before she sank down.
The pain was gone but she still braced herself for it. She went for it...and grabbed it...
