Description This isn't anything finished or going-to-be-finished, it's more of an "enhanced doodle" so it's er.. embarrassing.

Tried some new things; I've never shaded hair strand-by-strand and wanted to try it. I added some shadows, but I didn't try doing highlights and lighter strands just yet. Shading in black and white was really helpful, but as always my skin looks waxy. WAXY! u_u

I'd love some ideas on what I can improve next time, (definitely how to work with this hair technique). Also, I am frustratingly confused with how to turn black and white into color. Does anyone have any tips or tutorials?

The weird hairstyle is an item on Gaia Online, you can see it here ! The pixel version is so much better... OTL

I love horned girls! You did a good job, maybe a bit of texture on skin next time, but it's so awesome!

Wow this is so beautiful...and ya submitted this in October..and I didn't even see it in my watchlist..oh man. Sorry eh. Anyway...WTF DO YA MEAN EMBARRASSING?!?!?! This is AWESOME! Just lookit it, it's so beautiful and pretty..and the hair, it's been rendered so nicely..strand by strand..man you're so patient...usually I get really lazy and half arse the hair he he. But this is so nicely done, and she looks very glamorous actually...waxy? Nah not waxy..but if you want the skin to have a bit more texture..then you could try using a speckled brush..some artists do that. But seriously I think her skin looks very nice and smooth. Yeahh. As for colour..from what I've seen usually folks use overlay layers to add the base shades of colour..then either flatten the image and paint over it or tweak the image with hue/saturation adjustments and more colour layers. I think it's best if ya mess around with the settings and then you can find a way that works for you.

The hairstyle is really cool by the way..it ain't weird..to me XD

*w* D'aw, thanks Mony! I'm really glad for your advice too. I think if I try the black and white method again, I'll try coloring it too, but it's gonna be hard, hehe. XD I'll try the overlay thing. And I definitely need to use textured brushes, 'cause it's WAXY WAXY WAXY!!!

Oh you're very very welcome, no problem. Glad you think so ^ ^
Ah awesome, you do that...yeah it is a bit tricky getting the colours right, from what I've seen the values must be right, I once tried the method and when I was colouring over the black and white shaded layer, my red was turning out pinkish...and then I realised that the shade in my black and white layer was too light..yeah I fail at values DX I actually enjoy colouring directly more, but that's just me XD Oh come on, it ain't waxyyy...but if you wish you can try em

LUFF YA TOO

Enhanced doodle?!...Allright, I get it. You're kidding.

Amazing work. Won't tell (because this IS embarrasing) but that would be my finished work in some other dimension where I would be able to draw like this.

T___T If I argue with you, you'll get mad! It was a doodle! Because it has no color and no background and no body and bleccchhh

Unlike your artwork, which has a point to it, and is really well done. I really like your gallery.

Be free and argue with me. But I have to warn you. I am really good in defending people and things I consider fantastic. So I promise you will have really, I mean really hard time in this argument.
I'm not mad. I am delighted you answered me. I like monochrome works. I don't need background to like something. Body neither. So I think this argument is already over and I won. You made amazing art.

Thank you very much. Yeah, I always try to put many stories and toughts in my works. What I don't have is style , technic and skill. Sometimes I would really like to have someone like you beside me. Like ideas from both and you as someone who would make it.

I don't think I'd want to argue with you anyway! You're really nice, thank you.

If it's worth anything, I really do think you have good style and technique. I wish that I had some of your creativity, I can only hope that it is something I can continue to improve (if not I'm screwed. LOL x_x)

You are really nice too.

I have strange feeling that I think same about you. I am mere amateur still wandering around. But you seem as accomplished artist to me. I would really like to have graphic tablet because painting with mouse is sometimes very slow and painfull for my wrists. Luckily my brain doesn't hurt when I have dozen of ideas. It just if it could work as photo camera because in my mind all pictures I come up with are perfect in technic and style. That is why I could have use of someone like you. Who could do it very quickly and in nice way for me.
I think you passed that point of no return. You can't screw up anything anymore. You are too good and I would like you to get all possible improvements you're wishing for. Still, to me, where you are now, it is already beautiful.

*sway* The hair must have been tedious. I've always been so lazy with hair, I couldn't imagine shading it anything lke this, haha.

XD It was kind of a gamble, I've never shaded hair line-by-line... I wanted to give up after the first half, haha.

as always your work is gorgeous!

I think you did a superb job with the shadow and highlights in her face. I want to say a little more contrast in her hair, but I'm afraid that might take away from the fantastic work on her face. I really love the horns of hair.

Great job!

I plan to make more. I have Issue 2 all done except for the lettering and then I have a superhero story that I have to put on the computer and letter (that one was penciled and inked traditionally) Just takes time and money. lol

I'd just do a few random whisps that don't quite go with the hair if that makes sense [link] this is a bad example as my art isn't that good but hopefully it'll help explain what I'm trying to say XD. As for turning it into colour you could try an overlay layer? Put a layer above that one and set it to overlay then colour over it. Here's a tutorial on that: [link] Hopefully that will help a little bit! I love your art sooo much~ <3
