That is the most wonderful version of the Shrike I've seen.
Very Different from what I normally see, and much more dynamic and 'logical' in form.

and what is their story?
how did the monster become the ''lord'' and how did the man ended up confronting this beast?
i need more info.
also, great shading, and nice work on doing the realistic anatomy of the soldier, and the -freaky- grotesque anatomy of the beast that attacks him.
