Description I posted a shield test back in April 11, 2010 just to try out the effects and then ~novafox threw some ideas in to the comments: [link]
bout different kind of shields. Well I finally got some time to just mess around with different stuff and I made these sci-fi shields, partly based on novafox'es ideas, partly on my own.

Featuring:
EM-shielding
Graviton-shielding
Nano-armor-shielding
Subspace cloak
Anti-proton-shielding

kool, you should invent other shields, like the carbonite shields in startrek armada games and the multiphasic shields from voyager , or the solar shields from the tng shuttle that entered the sun. or borg shields ^_^

well the carbonite shields aren't really shields but armor

multiphasic shields are the same as EM and subspace shields layered on top of each other.

The shields that would allow you to enter a star would probably be EM shields as well and somehow be so think that they would not let charged particles and plasma through physically while not conduct energy somehow... I really don't even have a hint how these types of shields could work

And borg don't use shields

the shields their drones use are standard EM shields with modulating frequency to better adapt to high energy disruption patterns/waves.
