Having had a chance to read the first issue of the brand new 'Fall and Rise of Captain Atom' miniseries, i find myself feeling mildly enthused that the character might once more be useable in the general DC universe. Yes the writers are keeping - to a degree - with the New 52 continuity version and his transmutation powers over matter, but i have a feeling they are working towards returning Captain Atom to the metal skinned energy blast throwing version who made a -probably accidental- background appearance in the Rebirth comic.

Basically i suspect they will re-introduce the alien Dilustel skin as a limiter to Captain Atoms powers, moving it from the New 52 god-like 'Dr Manhattan' levels back to being comparable to Superman. I'm probably wrong but i'm interested to see how things pan out for Nathaniel Adam.

Anyhow i felt like drawing the good Captain closer to his Dilustel form but with the energy symbol flow from his New 52 form.
