Description
As Mary Marvel helps Captain Atom against the Man of Steel, Powergirl confronts "Batman" but she is gripped by the all too familiar feeling of Kryptonite radiation. As the Lasso of truth's effects slowly undo the effects of the fog that had affected Wonderwoman's mind, and as "Batman" grasps the Lasso, horror dawns on her as she sees the true enemy in their midst. The faint image of the Apokaliptan scientist, Doctor Bedlam, a specialist on affecting his victims minds. It is he who for months had been planting the seeds for Earths champions to tear themselves apart.
I felt that having Doctor Bedlam masquerade as Batman was a good idea, it should be within Apokalips science to design a body for him that would be an exact duplicate to the captured Batman.
And Darkseid often places too much interest in Superman when he should pay more attention to the "insignificant" Batman, for who else would nearly all of Earths heroes follow the commands of with almost no question.

Things got awkward shortly after when it was revealed batman just had a rock with green LED lights attached to it, as Powergirl punted him into orbit....Β
I joke, very good story Β

Yeah he's a imposter, you can see an after image of who he really is, very faintly over Batman in this picture.

Dr Bedlam is holding part of the lasso of truth in his right hand which currently binds Wonderwoman ( which reveals his identity and scheme ) and a piece of Batman's Kryptonite in his left hand, which is why Powergirl isn't punching him into paste

Great art, sounds like you're putting plenty of thought into how DC would handle Civil War. Have you considered trying things the other way round (imagining how a DC event would occur if it was in Marvel)? Like Final Crisis or Blackest Night?

Thanks I didn't really like Final Crisis but Blackest night would be interesting to do in Marvel. I will try doing some marvel characters at some point, since i only have a single picture of the Scarlet Witch to my dozens of Powergirl, but then i'm a DC fan at heart ( and reader until recently ).

That's ok! I've generally been more Marvel than DC but I'm getting into all the areas of DC a little better these days. In any cases, Marvel does Blackest Night would be awesome given how many guys have come back to life over the years. But yes, I'd love to see you draw Marvel characters regardless!

The storyline is going in a great direction! And depend on on Batman/Darkseid to have kryptonite handy to put Power Girl out of the fight. She looks distressed and in pain, looks like a tear on her cheek. No doubt the kryptonite will probably render her unconscious shortly.
But Wonder Woman has seen the truth! Will she be able to overcome the fog planted in her mind and be able to react?
Well done!

Thanks I had to have something to stop Powergirl, else she was going to do everything ( which is no bad thing but i wanted this particular story to feature a group effort ) so i figured after many months Dr Bedlam would have had enough time to locate Batman's Kryptonite to deal with the awkward Kryptonian.

Yes, it's good to depower PeeGee temporarily, a group effort would be better. Hoping along the lines of the JLA members made to realize they're under Darkseid or Dr. Bedlam's thrall, and join together eventually to defeat him.
In any case, I will be following the storyline you've constructed with great anticipation!
Cheers!
